Just take that POS to Barrett, take half of that money and a build a real race car... then you don't have any excuses left. :D

Don't think that's not running through my mind. :_paranoid

Modification 4,063 and 4,064.

As the car and myself have gradually gotten faster along with the onset of old age, :unibrow: safety comes into play. One thing I've always wished I had was a power cut off switch. A majority of fires are caused my an electrical short. It will also be nice while servicing the car. Flaming river makes this big daddy that is NHRA approved and will take 2500 amps for 5 second intervals and 200 continous. Maybe a little over kill but I like a margin of safey. http://www.flamingriver.com/index.php/products/c0015/s0004/FR1003-2 I set out to poke a hole in the rear facia right below the bumper but couldn't bring myself to it. I'll probably do it down the road. Anyway, I just put a make shift T handle on it for now but it's in the right location for the rod down the road. As usual, this turned into quite a little project. I had to rework all the cables and wires minus the negative side. I'm happy with the look and function. I'm going to order a different sticker with the push off instructions. I also plan to cover the terminals. The only bitch I have with it is a roll pin holds the lever on and you must install the switch in the bracket before you put the arm on and beat in the roll pin. The arm won't fit through the hole in the bracket. The hole is also at and angle so a machine screw won't work.

http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa251/Payback1969/DSC_0050.jpg

The second thing I added is a ROLL OVER SWITCH. I wired it into the ground side of my fuel pump relay. The car must be upside down for this switch to cut the ground to the relay. While I hope to never test this one out, I wouldn't want to be upside down with 140 per hour flowing. It's the red capped switch next to the fuel pump relay. I wired it so that if it malfunctions, I can simply uplug the connections and bypass it. The switch is made by painless.
http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa251/Payback1969/DSC_0038.jpg

Neither mod was very expensive, I probably have $250 in the whole deal. The cut off switch was pretty time consuming but that was due to packaging and working around the previous set up. I wouldn't build another car without either.

When we're all getting caught up in our next 10 hp mod, good call on a pause for safety. Lots of people read this thread obviously so hopefully others consider it. Or just get a mechanical fuel pump. :D

I was just talking w Mike @ Musclerodz about this yesterday. Like you my big hold up was routing the cut-off switch through the rear of the car.

Glad you're thinking safety Todd... Maybe in 2017 I'll get to it

EDIT: Another thought I had is maybe a cut-off lanyard like boat racers use? If they get thrown from the boat it kills all major systems so you don't get mowed down.

Nice work. I just installed one too. Now i got to rewire the bat wire for the stereo back to the battery so it doesn't erase the memory everytime i hit the main kill switch

They also make a remote cable and handle that goes into the car so you can kill it yourself and from the outside. Summit # LOK-1330023

Todd... does that switch work with an alternator?

I'd install a cutoff switch when you wire the car. If I was to start over, it would likely have a cutoff switch in the dash similar to Nascar. That still doesn't stop a short from the positive cable since that's a long run from the trunk. My postive cable is only 6-8 inches from the battery to the switch. That's a good thing.

This switch does not get wired into the ignition system. That would be another benefit of the dash mounted switch. I listen to my Ipod or exhaust so radio stations weren't that important. :unibrow: I may play around a little in PSCA down the road and want to be legal.

If you flip the main switch in the trunk to off...does it kill the eng? NHRA track techs "sometimes" check that. And if it doesn't, they won't let you run until it is fixed.

IMOHO if I'm in a wreck I want everything to be shut OFF with one switch eng, fuel pump etc. Just trying to help. My iPod is in my truck.. old owner cheaped out on the stereo in the Cam.

When I get to the wiring part of my car I am thinking about using this:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PRF-30204/

Can wire the toggle switch at the dash, but it disconnects the positive cable at the battery. The only thing is, you would have to wire in another toggle switch so some one could get to it on the outside, per NHRA rules.

The answer is NO. The car will continue to run with the switch in the off position. My main focus was a short but I didn't think about them verifying it would kill the engine. I'm not tearing the entire car apart so it will have to do. :D I knew it was likely that it wouldn't kill the engine.

Cool and respected. If you want it to kill the eng and have a 1 wire Alt. use the proper gauge wire and run it from the alt battery main output directly to the battery positive post, and no where else. That will kill the car instantly when you hit the switch. Or If you see they are checking for it at the track, just unhook the Alt when going through Tech. But you didn't hear that from me

Slept in till 9. Ate breakfast at 11 and headed out to the racetrack. :unibrow: I was greeted with some of the usual faces. The Pozzi's, Mr. Alcala, Hobaugh, and last and certainly least, Cris Gonzalez and his latest creation, blue balz that still hasn't got a nut. In all honesty, I think Brian has bleed that thing dry and them balz ain't blue no mo.

Back to my car. The autocross was a 1st gear good guys type autocross but I had a blast. This was the first outing with the new AFCO rear shocks. I tell you what, the car was good right from the start. Within my first 5-7 runs I clocked a 28.1 which was good for 3rd place for the day. Mary ran a 27.3 and Hobaugh a 27.4. I have alignment changes planned and I may go back to my old front compression setting to get a little more front grip. The loose condition present at El Toro is gone. They had a shoot out between the top 3 non hotchkis sponsored cars and I was the 2nd fastest behing Hobaugh for the day. Your best time of the day was your dial in(28.1) and they added the difference between your dial in and 3 runs to see how consistent you were. I ended up in 3rd place as I was right in the 29-29.3 range. Not my best runs but I was conscience of hitting a cone since that was a 2 second penalty and would've took me out.

Great day and I'd like to thank John Hotchkis for the opportunity to get 12-15 runs in such a short period of time. The Famous Dave's was icing on the cake.

Listen to these guys -- Pozzi - Maier - Hobaugh... and it'll do ya more good than any money you can spend.

I'm only saying this -- not to poke you -- but to commend THEM that they're willing to share their knowledge with "us"! Amazing -- and that's the real spirit!

Having Brian drive my car has been a big help in tuning and allowing him to drive my car showed me a faster way around the track. It was the end of the day so I only made one run after letting him take a few laps. I think with a few more tries I could've improved my best time of the day. Car is getting damn close to it's full potential and I'm creeping up there as well. Brian, Cris, and I talked shop for a few hours last night over some drinks and it's nice to share info as we all learned from the experience. At the end of the day, it's about having a good time.

Shocking as in once you experience what decent suspension valving delivers you understand why the real good stuff is real expensive.

The driving ability, motor, and brakes have been there, the shocks have been his handicap IMHO.

I have 3" pipe, x pipe, and Magnaflows that dump right before the axle. It sounded really good with the exhaust bouncing off the barriers. Oh ya, and I set off about 5 or 6 car alarms in the parking garage at the Cannery. :unibrow: I would like to put tail pipes on the car. It's got progressively louder or I've got OLD.

It does suprisingly well. I have so much engine braking with my big block and aluminum flywheel that it takes a unique driving style. Brian was struggling with it a little since he's used to LS engines. You really have to control front grip with the throttle.

I was thrilled to be that close to Mary & Brian.

The shocks definitely made a big difference. The good news is I need to work on the front end again to find a little more grip as the rear is biting better than ever laterally.

We talked about the direction of this hobby and the different type of cars last night. The truth of the matter is that cars like mine and Blue Balz aren't capable of competing with guys like Brian and Mike. It's a simple matter of physics. Our cars are just to heavy. We are gaining tenths and we need seconds to catch up to the top of the field. Mark Stielow is the only one I know of that can win with a car this heavy. Remember, he has 830 ft lbs and ABS. And he's one hell of a wheel man. Guess what he's doing. Building a lighter car. I'm really close to the end of the rope with this car and it's capabilites. I'm having trouble with the thought of selling it but my ideals have changed and I know what I'm capable of building with all my experience. The flip side is I hate to give up the streetability of the car. I've really tried to keep that alive through all my tweaks. It's a great ALL AROUND performer. I just crave the race part more than anything else at this point.

Todd,

I am glad you made it out yesterday to MATS. It was a very fun weekend. Hotchkis did a really nice job putting on a well run event with more runs that I have ever had in two days. Your Camaro is awesome. The power is unbelievable and the handling is just a few tweeks away from being REALLY GOOD. Thanks for the opportunity to take me for some rides and let me have my hands at the wheel. :D You will really feel the difference once you make the adjustements we talked about with the alignment. Enjoy the car and have a great summer with it. Hope to see you soon at another event this summer.

If you want to save some bucks put your '69 up on blocks, find a shell, then pull your motor and front suspension and throw them in the shell. Pick up another G-bar set up and toss that in. That way you can still keep your car and I won't have to hear about how much lighter I am than you. :unibrow:

Hey, it was fun riding around with you. I can see you've definitely picked up a little bit of Mary's driving style, and that's not a bad thing. I think if you stiffened Payback up front and rear you'd get more out of the car. You looked like you had pogo sticks for coil overs in the front. Anyway, she really surprised me how well she hussled around that parking lot, you know for having a big block, and all (I kid, I kid - the car was flat out fast). Glad you were along for the ride on my best lap. The engine braking in my car will make the front end bite pretty hard just easing off the throttle a hair mid corner. Not sure if that's what you are talking about.

I really don't worry about it anymore. I throw some bath towels over the fenders and tape things up as needed. You have to remember that this car has almost 7k and 25 races or more on it's belt. It's got some scars from all the good times.

Hey Todd, can you expand upon your impressions of the shock change? Where did you feel like they were better? I'm guessing the improvement is along the lines of less snap oversteer coming out of corners, and just more predictable under throttle?

It will be very interesting to see what your feeling is on road courses...I bet the valving is going to let you get on the throttle much earlier than before.

Steven, I'd describe it as more in control. I noticed the difference on the street almost immediately. I'm glad you asked because now that I reflect on the feel difference, the old shocks were to bouncy when they had what I now know is enough rebound. The lateral grip has definitely increased. It would get loose but well in control and savable. With the old shocks, it would break loose and it was hard to recover.

Now, that course certainly wasn't the ultimate test but I have little doubt that it will improve the car at higher speeds. I agree that I can get on the throttle a litte sooner and it may have a little more forward bite. I didn't feel like I was just mowing off tire tread down the short straights. I wasn't exactly stomping on the loud pedal and I'm not sure I was getting to full throttle but definitely well into the four barrel. I really can't say it gets out of the hole better just yet. I do expect better 60 foot times at the drag strip but that's a whole different deal.

I'm running at least one SCCA event in May on large lots. I'll report back. So far, well worth the $600.

Glad you were along for the ride on my best lap. The engine braking in my car will make the front end bite pretty hard just easing off the throttle a hair mid corner. Not sure if that's what you are talking about.

Maybe? It might have been the result of taking your foot off the brake all of a sudden, causing the front of the car to become unsettled for a second before engine braking brought it down again?? That doesn't sound right to me though.. Not Sure if the engine braking would throw the nose back down that hard. It basically looked like you were tapping the pedal a couple of times making it look wallow-ey. The front end would go down-up-down in corners.

Not that you're superstitious, or in need of luck, but I'd be happy to ride shotgun at Buttonwillow, you know, "just in case."

How about some real tech instead of Better Homes & Gardens. :unibrow:

That little guy on my shoulder has been telling me that I need to check some vitals. I'm figuring 3500-4000 street miles and around 24 events on this engine with just regular maintenence. I run a mild solid roller in my mill but they are known for eating lifters regardless. The valves are heavy and I turn mine to nearly 7k damn near everytime I drive it. High rpm is the norm at events.

You can wait for catastrophic failure or you can put your time into preventitive maintenence. I'll tell all you newbies and oldies. These cars aren't low mainence regardless if you actually use them. I picked up a valve spring tester from LSM(A great American company). The tester allows me to check the springs by removing the girdle. I'm looking at seat pressure. My engine is spec'd to have 260 lbs on the seat and 640 on the nose. It's normal to see the springs lose 25-30 lbs initially. Well, after the formentioned, I have a couple exhaust valves that are living on 180lbs! No Bueno. The intakes are all in great shape. Clearly, the heat from the exhaust has diminished most of the exhaust valve springs.
http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa251/Payback1969/DSC_0056.jpg
Here's where I think a lot of big block guys go wrong. If the valve springs are ready for replacement, what about the lifters? I have a set of Isky Red Zone lifters in this engine. I'm going to take the horse by the reigns and send them in and have them rebushed with a set of their easy rolls with NO needle bearings. Common sense tells me that if the valve springs are toast, it's time for lifters.

Once I found that I had low spring pressure on a couple valves, I wanted to check the vitals. I ran a COLD compression check. While it should be done with a hot engine, I feel a mechanically sound bottom end should check out cold. It did, with less than 5% variance from cylinder to cylinder. My lowest cylinder got a little wet with gas from bumping the engine to check valve spring pressures. The rings look to be sound.

http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa251/Payback1969/DSC_0067.jpg

So, I'll have Jason Pettis order a set of new springs and he recommends checking every spring at installed height to make sure there are no manufacturing flaws or wrongly packaged springs. Not surprised with my boy. Check EVERYTHING. I'll send my current lifters out to Isky and have them rebushed. Then, I'll be ready to have all kinds of fun with a clean conscious. :D

Good call. Looks like you stretched it out a little longer than you should have. I'm at about 6 road course events and not even close to full days at half of those with very few street miles. NYES told me to check valve springs and lifters after 1 season and bring the motor in after 2 seasons for freshening. 2 seasons would be about 16 events so hopefully I'm good but now you got me thinking.
Thanks for shedding a light.

Leave it to the Pettis Apprentice to get deep into some preventative maintenance. Nice segue from our sh!t talking as of late.

Timely for me, I just finished reading a Circle Track Engine Building book tonight and one of the points I took from it was investing in even a cheap valve spring tester (recommended a $75 Moroso) and they said while it may not be dead nuts accurate, that's fine because it will be consistent and show variances that are the key to preventing a problem like you talk about. I see that LSM piece is quite a bit more than $75.

2 questions... and I don't remember how big your cam lift is, but you do rev reasonably high often.... have you considered shaft rockers?

And whose fuel log is that? I am looking for one....

Vegas69
04-29-2012, 08:24 AM
It seems to be really accurate. At 260 seat originally and a normal initial loss of 25-30 all the intakes are in the 230-235 range which adds up. The real key is to calibrate it on a fresh engine. I considered the Moroso unit but I don't think they will clear the tall poly locks with a stud girdle. Maybe they make one but I didn't look to hard.

I absolutely considered shaft rockers. At the time I couldn't stomach another $1200. I haven't found the girdle to be a headache adjusting valves. It fits really well and doesn't change the valve adjustment. On the flip side, I haven't been that thrilled with the consistency of the valve adjustment. Shaft rockers are definitely the way to go. When it's time to freshen her up, different heads may be part of the equation so I don't really want to make that investment right now. I'm at .660 lift. Tiny little big block cam.

That's a tough question. I really think you have to find your own maintenence schedule based on your own abuse and use. Jason and I had discussed me doing all these things this Fall and he thought it was fine. I really don't think he realizes the extent I'm using the car. I got lucky, it was to long on a solid roller in a big block chevy. That being said, some guys could go a decade until they get to this point.

I can tell you this, if I keep up the schedule I've been runing for the last 3 years, it will get valve springs every year. I'm sure there on some LS guys chuckling right now. I've seen a fair share of them scattering all over the pavement over the last couple years. Anytime you get away from stock specs, you lose stock reliability. This is a lesson for everybody that is abusing their equipment.

I like the new Isky EZ Roll design as it eliminates the needle bearings. I had lashed the valves before RTTC and the roller went that fast. If you don't catch it, needle bearings will destroy an engine. They have three stages based on spring pressure. I'll likely opt for one step above what they spec regardless.

Another trick I have heard of but never done myself, is groove the lifter or the lifter bore so you get more pressurized oil onto the roller wheel. And yes it's better to have a little more spring pressure with solid rollers

I honestly don't remember but I know it's something he does on a regular basis. By big block solid roller standards, it's really a baby so I don't think it was a real consideration. Solid roller lifters are a wear item in all engines, especially big block chevys. I knew this since day one and that's why I've kept a fairly close eye on them. The valve spring pressure is likely what led to the failure. That or it's one hell of a conincidence. I've read a bunch of threads on solid roller failures and I don't recall valve spring pressure coming up but I feel it's likely the real issue. One thing to remember is a solid roller has lash while a hydraulic roller rides on the lobe at all times.

Swapping springs and replacing/rebuilding lifters are going to be part of the maintenence and I knew it, just didn't know the interval. It almost bit me.

I dont like the idea of gauging by miles driven. One of these days I'd like to install an hour gauge. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea for you either since you do alot of street driving. Just the fact that roller lifters dont like idling would be a pretty good deciding factor.
The guys at NYES told me one season for springs and lifters, 2 for rings and bearings and I told them exactly what I would be doing with the car. Yeah, I had a shaky start with those guys but I do believe they know what there doing and talking about now.

I run these on my bikes, they should work on a car?

The lifter bodies were in such nice condition and Jason wasn't concerned with me having them rebuilt. I had them rebuilt with the EZX option. They claim they will handle up to 1100 open pressure and will outlast the redzones by 50% life. Since I'm only running 640 lbs of open pressure, they should last a long time and they are needle less. They are on the way back to me. Jason recommended checking every valve spring at installed height and he did and they are here, I just need to buy a valve spring tool and get my ass to work. :unibrow:

Looks like I'll miss both SCCA autocrosses this month so I'm not in a big hurry. I'll have her all buttoned up in a few weeks.

Cool deal, Did you get new springs or are you going to use VSI shims and bring back the correct pressure with the used springs?

I don't care if it is a peanut or a grapefruit, or a damn watermelon,

I just cannot wait to beat my car at an autocross soon..

I won't make the Pleasanton one in June because I am going to Yosemite(bucket List), but August I will be there, and hopefully something bigger sometime this year.

I have too many new parts and tires I have to wear out..

This one is from the inaugaral RTTC in 2010. It's the longest speed stop course I've ran. Later in the day I was able to run the fastest time of anybody at the event.(Including the DSE Cars, Finch, etc) Todd was gratious enough to run to town for some aligator clips and wire so the guys without cigarette ligthers could be timed. I say 110 in the video but it ended up being like 107 or 108. It put me well into the 13's in 0-100-0 which is where you find a majority of the super cars.

It's a pretty interesting video as you see Frank, Todd, and Cris before we all knew him so well.

Now if we can just get Gaetano to run the peanut in his car, the world will surely end.

Thanks for the compliments. You are a very good autocrosser but I think it's very close between us now. I coned away a run .5 seconds faster than you at RTTC this year. How big of an advantage are the tires, it's debatable. I'd give you a slight edge and it's due to your weight and being able to run in 1st gear. I've got new shocks now out back which has fixed my loose condition at max effort autocrossing.

Damn....

We have Francis wearing alligator skin, what is that some kind of Runway fire suit by Victoria secrets ?:wow:

And we have the blue and white Mustang...err Camaro..

Then we have Todd looking like a Greased Grape being shot out of someone's hand, being chased by Smokey the Camaro, in some straight line test..

No wonder Todd's valve springs are weaker than a old man's knee's.. That car is wicked fast.. Ina straight Line..

Then smokey the Shelby, I don't think that was tire smoke, Blowing his motor..

And then your talking about old assholes, ugh...Or growing old assholes.:willy:

Damn, I leave here for a few hours and you posting whores are smacking each other so hard that your faces and ass cheeks must be beet red...

And what's wrong with leaf springs ? ...What , is this some hoety toety website, where you gotta have some special rear ass to run the curves ?:wow:

Geez...If I didn't know you guys any better....oh, wait, I don't even know you guys at all....I think I want to , but now I am not sure...

You guys are cackling like hens that are laying eggs...

I can see that although I just threw money/Dead Presidents ,at my car like confetti, I am still under powered, and need racing seats..At Least. Maybe ANY experience would help..other than street driving..:willy:

I can talk about how I have a number's matching LT-1, but that is only good for coffee table talk, because I truly need more power, and I think that going the LS route for Gas mileage and power is NOT the way to go..

I think a professional built small block, or redoing my LT-1 to the tolerances of a shrapnel grenade is in order...Because this Todd guy runs some wicked fast times...0 to 100 to 0 in 13 ? Something is wrong with my car and I won't be able to race you today....So much for 40 year old motors trying to race guys with racing engine's, Fat blocks, err, big blocks or not...:wow:

Then we have a token post from Monaco Greg, to add some seasoning.

I am looking forward to smacking you guys in person someday... I will be the handsome guy in last place getting all the Hot chicks...I am a lover, not a fighter...And apparently not a racer either.

But I need to throw more confetti/money at my Car, not for winning, but to try to win..I got enough power to win at the peanut butter tracks, but other than that, I will get smoked. And no, I ain't putting nothing in my pipe and smoking it..I gave up the wacky tobacky, 20 years ago.:unibrow:

My Excuse is that my Wife is looking at this mansion to move to, SEE Avatar, and all my extra cash will be gone...So I will run my Lap Car/Pace car, the way it is. You are lucky my wife has plans for my Money...

A big part of no mechanical failures is due to preventitive maintenence. The decision I made to check the valve springs saved me a costly unneeded rebuild. While I had the engine apart to swap out the valve springs and rebuild the lifters with the superior NO needle bushings, it was time for a good inspection and tune up. A consistent compression balance and clean plugs showed me the combustion chamber is happy. I replaced the cap, rotor, plugs, and distributor gear along with inspecting the wires and blowing out the distributor housing. I looked the carb over and checked all the fasteners. I replaced the K&N with a fresh element. They are inexpensive enough that I decided to replace it vs. clean an reoil it. I dropped the visclosity in the engine to 10w40 to drop the cold oil pressure and reduce distributor gear wear.

I picked up another trick tool from LSM racing to do the valve spring change. It was a back breaker but I knocked them all out in a couple hours. Now I have a real baseline for fresh valve springs with my on engine valve spring tester. It turns out that only two of the old valve springs had really lost any significant pressure. The intakes measure 230 and exhaust 210 on the seat.(The values are different than they would measure off the engine) The exhaust lifter I nearly lost was only down to 180 seat. They will be getting checked at every valve lash adjustment.

She's running great and ready for a couple more years of raising hell before similar maintenence.

Up next is a trip down to Best of Show on July 23rd to have Dick and the crew freshen up the paint. Cut and buff and touch up some blemishes.

It only has 3500-4000. Remember, I'm turning it close to 7k and that takes some higher valve spring rates on a big block. Sitting is hard on them as well. I'd still check them if I was you. You may not have a spec but you could see if you have some week springs. I'd let you borrow mine.

Thanks for the posting on your thread about the lifters. I looked into the no needle rollers and swapped them on the advice of Crower prior to installing the ones I had so it only cost me the difference.:D

Now maybe a belt drive to isolate your springs from engine harmonics would be a good idea. I know they are expensive but they have some advantages, one being the isolation piece one being the adjustability and then there is the trueness of timing and ease of maintenance.

The new shoes looks sweet

She's lookin' sharp in that photo. You could drive in reverse and still have larger back tires than me. LOL. Some lucky bastard is going to be very lucky to own her.

I spent 6 months convincing myself to sell the car. A big part of that was being at peace with the decision. I know there will be times where I'll regret it regardless. Just watching the videos I posted tonight got me all excited. Somehow they look way faster now that I'm selling it. As I said in my sale thread, this is the first object that I've really had sentimental value associated with. It's the blood, sweat, and experiences. No regrets and I'm looking forward. I'm talking to a couple interested buyers now. I'll find the right buyer soon. It sure would be interesting to compete with my creation down the road with a new project. I suppose it would be similar to seeing your ex old lady with some other guy.

I listed the car on Ebay this morning. If you don't want to take any chances, there is a buy it now.

Todd, Hate to see you let go of Payback, but I can't wait to see what you build next! The mods that you have done over the years have inspired me and made me think more about the mods I do to my Camaro. Good luck with the sell, as somebody is getting one heck of a ride!

Don't let them park it under one of the trees that lines the streets there. You'll end up with hundreds of tiny sap droplets all over your ride. No fun getting those off. Trust me on that one. :). Good luck with your showing.

I hear Wayne, I'm 20 minutes away and my wife had to go on and make plans for some Freakin dinner and a play I have to go to 90 minutes away :( If not I'd be there offering moral support. Good luck with the sale Tod. I've enjoyed very much your build thread. Looking forward to your next project.

Payback won an award on Friday night too. I had to forgo drinking a cold one to accept the award and talk your car up. Since Dick was the sponsor giving out the awards, he couldn't really hand it to himself. Oh let me clarify that Dick didn't select Payback for the award (not that it isn't deserving, but the sponsors should be handing out awards to cars they brought down). However, the event coordinator wouldn't let the car leave without winning something though!

Oh and on our way back we ran into a new black on black ZL1 Camaro. I think your car emasculated the poor driver

It sounds like she's going out on the right foot. Always a dominator on the street and track. I'll never forget pulling up to a stop light next to a Dodge Challenger and he was show boating before he got to the light. The Wife looks over/looks back to her Husband and then must of nearly suffered whiplash looking back over. I gave it a rev, left them in the dust when the light turned green and they took the first turn. He probably needed some Viagra that night.

Matt, I appreciate you and the guys at BOS taking her down there and winning an award is awesome.

Don't mention it. I'm sure Dick was equally happy that you didn't mind having your car down there. It was a tough job, and a bit of a burden having to drive that car own there and back, but someone had to do it. :D I totally wished she was mine when the new ZL1 pulled up at the stop beside me, it would have been nice to do a little more than show off the ZL1's bark. However, just the idle made the new car's owner afraid to get on it until he turned to get on the freeway. Whoever winds up with this car is getting a great deal. Drives and rides amazingly well on the street!
