Great thread and thank you for posting all the little details. Those details are what help to expand the knowledge base of part time newbies like me.

Morning Lenie,
Thank you for making me laugh and I love the four post. The guys I got it from were/are in Minnesota and since they are actually made in Minnesota I had them custom make it for the 2010 Camaro. Most people don't realize the 2010 is stupid wide and hangs over the sides of all the standard lifts. So I had them widen the ramps 6" and moved the legs out to the exact with I needed in the garage. It was about $800.00 more then the standard lifts but it was worth it. We also have a couple lifts in my warehouse that are the standard Bend-Pack and those are also nice.

Marty...Totally Stainless no longer sells the Ridetech specific kit 4 link kityou posted a few pages back. They took it out because the 4 link has changed somewhat. If I remember correctly....ours are near identical. I'll have to go back through the thread to double check.
Were you able to use the whole kit and how did it workout? Do you recall any issues?

We had to custom make the kit. I basically told him the new sizes and he sent me the hardware.
ps - They are so easy to work with and have to be one of the nicest vendors ever.

Thanks! I have a feeling that they may have put the kit together specifically based off of your measurements. They no longer offer it as Ridetech has changed components a few times.
Yours appears identical to what I have.

Making the GTO Spares fit (11-23-2019 )
Trying to catch this thread up and lets see how far I can get tonight.
Since the car needs to be a roller and my really nice Billet Specialties wheels don't really need to be on the car and would be much safer in the warehouse. I need to make the GTO spare's work on the rear axle.
Since they didn't need to have much removed I decided to sand off the material.

Cont. ( Plan B or C at this point. )
Apparently when I asked everyone is a 4l60e trans case the same size as a 700R4 they were all wrong. As the trans need to go back at least 1.5" and guess what it is a little bit wider and really freaking close to my freshly painted trans tunnel.
Insert sad face here. :-(
So for now I am going rest the trans on my lift jack (that was a bitch to do by myself) and install the motor so I can get and idea of how far off it is.
Trans is shoved all the way back just to make it easier.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/upload/2019/12/30/20191230174232-35339040-me.jpg
Now I have to figure out how to get these together by myself while under the car.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/upload/2019/12/30/20191230174239-d4a2e330-me.jpg
Time to get creative.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/upload/2019/12/30/20191230174243-edc2a6f8-me.jpg
If you have time please look up "spelunking" (https://www.google.com/search?q=spelunking&oq=spalun&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j0j46l3j0l3.7142j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8) and that is what I had to do to get under the car which was on the lift. So starting at the back of the car I layed on the lift and slid under the rear quarter, then under the rear differential. The under the platform jack on the lift, in between the bottle jack on the stack of 2 x 12's and finally in between the engine hoist legs to muscle up the back of the motor to line up a couple bolts to mate the trans to the motor.
Once that was complete I honestly stayed there for a couple minutes to rest or was that I had no idea how I was going to get out. Not sure really but getting out was way harder then getting in.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/upload/2019/12/30/20191230174243-edc2a6f8-me.jpg
I took this picture as I was shimming back out feet first up on the deck of my lift that was at least 12" off the ground.

Nice work, Marty!
Thank you.
This go round of the build is all the stuff I wanted to do the first time but with that cancer thing the goal was to just get the car done and make a nice driver. This go round I get to do all the little details that most people won't notice and the timing couldn't be better as with the social distancing and the lock down am fairly certain my family would kill me if was in the house all night. I'm not much for sitting around so this is keeping me sane.

Yep, a Gentleman from New York I think made them and thankfully I put the clutch pedal, small brake and clutch reservoir from him as he is no longer making them.

Looking for Old School Window Cranks (01-10-20)
Seems like an easy enough task and oddly enough it was. All you have to do is go to the Autoparts store that has been in your
town for 80 years and see if they have a window crank.
Not sure how old it is but it has been on the shelf for years.

Next up...Adjustments to the G-Force Trans Crossmember.
So you know when you ask all of your car friends and even the guys at the trans shop if the 700R4 and the 4L60E have the same
size case and the tail-shaft mount is in the exact same position and the case dimensions are the same. Well, don't believe them
because they are not and the blue tap represents where the new holes need to be !!!
Of course I have to drill new holes in my freshly Powder Coated crossmember. Not Happy at all.

Is this a street car only? I ask because I know its really easy to boil power steering fluid during track days or autocross. A cooler would be a good idea in any case. I like the machine bushing idea for washers, I'm going to have to remember that.

Strictly a street car as I don't feel it has enough safety features in it that would save my life if I crashed. So this
one will do the Power Tour and see a bunch of mountain bike trails.
I also have the Cayman R and the 2010 Camaro if I want to hit the track or autocross. Something about having
airbags, ABS and updated safety features that at this point in my life seem really important.

Coil Brackets (02-02-20)
So at this point I am assuming at this point that my coil brackets are upside down so I am going to flip them to see if the coils come down just a little bit to take the tension off the plug wires. If not I am going to have to remake the wire as I don't like how tight they are.

Marty, that stay at home advisory is really working in your favor by getting a bunch of small detailing stuff done. I picked up some of that wire wrap to use as a conduit for wiring going from the trunk area to glovebox, keeps them nice and neat & protected.
Hey if you don't mind...... in the pics of your spark plug wires, your grommet on your firewall that feeds your main harness looks nice and snug, care to share which one you used. Thanks.
Keep up the tidy detailing!

Hi Simon,
The good news or should I say great news is I am still working but my hours have been cut back to about 40 hours a week which is a nice change. I should also add I don't sleep much.
Here is the info on the grommet.

Thank you and the car didn't have a distributor but is did have a MSD box for the Carb set up. So maybe it went to that, I just don't remember. Looks like I am going to have to look back at pictures and see if I can figure it out.
maybe it's for the AC Compressor ?
Will it be back on the road this summer ?? I sure the heck hope so as I was originally shooting for the Power Tour in May and now that it's moved out to the end of August I should have plenty of time to get it running again and get all of the bugs worked out before we hit the road.

Loving the attention to detail and little upgrades.
I'll be curious to hear about your impressions with the Terminator X system compared to what you had before. I have loved mine since I installed it with a similar manifold/throttle body as you have now.
One thing to note, you are going to have high intake air temps with the filter in that location. My filter is right off the intake just like yours and I see ~75* in the morning when I drive to work and it is in the 20's outside, and ~120*+ when it warms up to the 70's. So around a +50* change over the ambient temperature pulling air from through the radiator. I have been driving with it that way for a year and a half but definitely something I plan to remedy soon.

Kenny Cut and Stretched them with fiberglass.
However, I think I may go a different route when I get to the interior over the winter. I really like how Nick did his as it looks much cleaner and is very simple which is like the most.

Valuable lessons learned in life (03-01-20)
Most people that know me are aware that I like to sit back and watch, listen, photograph so I can learn new thing and
new ways to do things. The reason I photograph everything is so I can go back and look at what I saw a 2nd, 3rd, 4th
or even a 5th time. Being honest some times I go back and look at things so much that I print them out and stick them
on the walls in my garage or my office.
After seeing my wife work on white boards for years I realized that I could get a dry erase board for the garage and plan
the wire routing that I wanted to do in this version of the car. It so much easier for me to have a visual plan versus something
in my head.
So once again out comes my Garage Desk and the dry erase board.

http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/upload/2020/04/17/20200417163658-6cd2da39-me.jpg
Once I am comfortable with the dry erase board I transfer my thoughts to the cars note pad.

At the same time I am trying to plan the new dash layout since I am going with the new 7" Holley dash and I still want to
have something that will fill the right side of the dash surround and I think this is what I am going to put in that area.

Playing with the Holley Harness Wrap ( 03-17-20 )
So I am not trying to redo the harness I am just trying it to make it look a little cleaner at the firewall entry point.

I just love removing the tape to expose the wires and how they wrap them together.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/upload/2020/04/17/20200417164136-23ae2ae7-me.jpg

I cleaned the harness wrap up a little bit and as you can see the harness wants to go towards the drivers side of the car. Of course
I need the harness to make a left and head over to the passenger side of the car. So I will need to get a silicone elbow which I
will have to slit as I am not taking the harness apart.
No Way No How !!!

So it is amazing how dirty a car gets with so few miles on it. However I did get caught in the rain a couple times and of course with no wipers.
As you can see I not only take a bunch of pictures. I put notes on everything and when I bag them I make sure the bags are dated so I can go back and look at the pictures I took on that date. This prevents me from staring at bags and wonder where the heck those parts went.

Moving on to the Headlight Harness ( 04-18-20 )
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/upload/2020/04/27/20200427173609-a39d4cce-me.jpg
This is the adapter that comes with the DSE Truck Lights for the 2nd Gen Camaro's. Instead of bare wires I put a small piece of Tech Flex wrap on them.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/upload/2020/04/27/20200427173611-3df8bf70-me.jpg
I run the wires under the core support lip for a nice clean look if you happen to look through the grille.

Keeping with the somewhat stock appearing theme under the hood I trimmed the Wire Gutter down a little bit.

Next up is the DSE Wiper Motor & Harness. I will be removing the plastic wire wrap as it's so 1990's. Just kidding.

This was one of those moments where I just stopped looking. ( 04-25-20 )
Way back in 2011 when I took the car apart i misplaced the center channel speaker and the silly bracket that supports the center. So I ordered a replacement center channel from "Classic Car Stereo's Com" just for the bracket. Ron Wilson will get the speakers and he will have to look for the bracket I lost.

Sorry I am so far behind posting updates on the car. I had a lot of fun on the bike's this summer from trails to road I feel like i bike more now then I was years ago.
It's time to start mocking up the wiring and make sure I planned well as I trying to hide some of the wiring so when you look in at the radiator you don't actually see the wires.

The plan is to eventually put a flat hood on the car and since I have one I am working on making templates for DEI to make an UNderhood Thermal Accoustic Lining kit for the 2nd gen Camaro's.
I really really hate making paper templates and it is so hard to get them exact.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/upload/2020/05/11/20200511171006-60db1714-me.jpg
yep this sucks.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/upload/2020/05/11/20200511171010-3979a8a3-me.jpg
If you want to make and exact pattern this is so much easier. Make sure you put down layers in both direction so your pattern become thicker and more rigid. Once you have a minimum of 2 layers of tape get out your exacto knife and trim it out and you will have a perfect template.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/upload/2020/05/11/20200511171027-8d61c7ca-me.jpg
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/upload/2020/05/11/20200511171033-55d6a25b-me.jpg
The final step is to lay them sticky side up and put one layer of tape over the adhesive and your almost done. I like to overlap and actually tape it to a piece of cardboard.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/upload/2020/05/11/20200511171038-093ca8f8-me.jpg

I make tape patterns too, but I don't flip them over for more tape. I normally either A. put them on paper if I need to make more then one or don't have the material on hand or stick them right to the metal I'm cutting out.
I can see where that label maker would have been real handy lol.

The plan is to do a dry sound check and make sure the Kicker Blue Tooth Sound System works and works well enough to keep Mike & I entertained on the 2021 Power Tour and Possible the Good-Guys Road Tour.
I needed a way to connect the amp to the Kicker main unit and all I could find in my bin of parts/wire was a 3 foot RCA wire.

I was asked to share a couple pictures of the amp rack and how it was mounted. I glued the weld studs under the package tray and hung the amp neatly from the package tray. It is also nestled really close to the harness bar that is welding into the cars structure under the package tray. If you look back at the pictures you can see that Dennis welded bungs in so I could mount shoulder restraints for the rear seat passengers.

Since the goal is to keep everything as accessible as possible the battery is staying up front in the stock location. However that doesn't mean the battery tray has to be stock. Ron at Wilson Muscle Car & I designed the tray to work in the factory locations.

to drill the proper size hole for the 3/8" tap. If you don't have this Tap Cheat sheet it is worth saving this as I borrowed it from someone on one
of the BB forums years ago and have referenced it many times.

the core support bracket I can bolt it directly to it.

Once again I am working on the Vintage Air lines and I need some new fittings. I headed over to Midwest Hots to pick up the new
fittings. I am very happy they made improvements as these are much better.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/upload/2020/09/11/20200911141458-dd42a9dd-me.jpg
Prior to painting the firewall I added one new hole for the power wires for the Holley Terminator system. They made it clear in their instructions
that these wires need to be separated from all other wires in the car. So I moved them over to the passenger side of the Kick Panel.
ps Remember where these wire come out.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/upload/2020/09/11/20200911141505-23b2e6f4-me.jpg
When I went to install the new Vintage Air fittings into the existing holes the new fittings hit the Anvil Inner fender. I starred at it for at
least 20 minutes and decided to put the old fittings back as the new ones didn't work. Hours later after lunch I took a second look and I
move the Vintage Air fittings over one hole. I as was shocked it actually fit like I had planned it. Talk about dumb luck.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/upload/2020/09/11/20200911141510-df59eb61-me.jpg
I sourced "machined washer" from Grainger and installed them on the back side to act as washers.

I decided to clean out all of the metal shavings that where inside the kick panel. So I got out my trusty magnet and started fishing for
metal shavings and I actually enjoyed this task.

I don't like this either so I will be adding a line clamp to keep this line safe from harm as there is a bolt poking through the core support
directly into this line.

So I am trying to figure out a way to run the lines so they look good and if need I can service them if needed. Remember I am not building a show car I am building car that I can drive and easily fix without having to take the 1/4 of the car apart to get to stuff.

Step One remove the inner fenders...again (really I am getting good at this)

Your level of detail surpasses mine and the Camaro is really nice. It took me the last few evenings to get through all the pages. Very informative and I took a few notes ! I need to learn to use more blue tape. Is there a preferred brand and best place to purchase?

Thank you for the kind words.
I like the 3M tape the best and even though I pass two Home Depot’s on my way home from work I still go to Ace Hardware hoping to get a chunky bar.

Time to make a better mouse trap.
I decided to go in a new direction with how the radiator was secured in place. Keeping with the "KISS Principle - Keep It Stupid Simple" I decide to make a flat bracket they will attach directly to the Core support with rubber Well Nuts.

Since I plan to drive this car and really don't want the hassle of having a battery in the trunk. Ron from Wilson Muscle Cars and I designed a factory fit Billet Tray for the battery. Actually it was my idea and Ron drew it up and I had TJ make a few of these.

Since I am running the Anvil Carbon/Fiberglass Inner fenders. I can't use the inner fender to support the battery tray in the front. My solution is to drill a hole in my inner fender and run a support rod up from the Core Support bracket.

Well it looks like I am going to do some testing with a hair dryer. Not sure how much of and issue it will be on the inside of the car. More worried about the stuff in the inner fender.
Edit
I did use a heat gun to shrink the heat shrink tubing. What’s your thoughts ??

Since I will be planning and running the wiring in the car it is time to put everything wiring in it's own tool box. So years ago I bought two of these toolboxes from Sears in a close out sale for $60.00 each assembled. They have been sitting in my warehouse for years and I have finally found the perfect use for one of them.
Trust me fitting up this folding shelf was not planned and the fact that it was a relief.

Now that I know how the trans fits and the fact that I will need to redo the trans crossmember. I am going to remove the trans so I can install
the fitting for the trans cooler lines. Plus it will open up the are under the car so I can get some work completed under the car.
I will be replacing these fittings so I can use the Holley PFT line with AN fittings

Looking forward finally installing the Holley EFI tank.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/upload/2020/10/06/20201006224552-df8a46fc-me.jpg
Since the rubber isolator strips were in my garage attic and there was some duct tape nearby. I taped the straps so I wouldn't scratch up the tank.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/upload/2020/10/06/20201006224600-d2b0304a-me.jpg
I needed to open up the end so I could hang the straps.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/upload/2020/10/06/20201006224602-267f8cc0-me.jpg
All taped up and ready to install.

Since I plan to install an access door I took a few measurements so I could figure out where to cut the hole in the trunk floor.

The plan here is to find a suitable location for the Holley Fuel Filter Regulator.

I plan to use this clear hose for mock up as it is roughly the same size as the -6 PFT line.

Hey Marty,
You’re a busy man! Love the write-up, all of the detail, your organization and attention to detail (and nice find on the tool boxes, they work perfectly for all you wiring materials). Does the Holley EFI tank use one of their hydromats for fuel pickup? If not, is it baffled to avoid fuel starvation? I used a Rick’s Resto-mod tank in my Chevy II, which has corner pick ups, though they say they really aren’t necessary with the OEM fuel modules used in those ranks. Thanks,
Brian

Well it looks like I am going to do some testing with a hair dryer. Not sure how much of and issue it will be on the inside of the car. More worried about the stuff in the inner fender.
Edit
I did use a heat gun to shrink the heat shrink tubing. What’s your thoughts ??

I used a heat gun on some shrink tubing nearby. If your labels survived the initial tubing shrink, you're probably good.

Great update!
Marty, you might want to use some Permatex Aviation sealer with the cork gaskets. Napa usually has it in stock.

Now that the Afco "Direct Fit" Radiator is home and modified so it will work I might as well test fit it.

Marty, I'm not sure you'd have enough room for the radiator to 'move' as it heats and cools down with the side to side mounts. You may need some wiggle room there so the radiator doesn't crack somewhere. Maybe take a look on a modern cars cooling system. There should be 'pins' on the radiator that go into usually large grommets. Just a thought.
