HAHAHAHAHAHA ---- I WOKE THE SLEEPING GIANT!!!

My phone was going off constantly with the Text sound -- and Gwen is like "Who's that"?…. Oh -- just my little buddy Mario…. he's going crazy on me! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

The car looks so awesome! Not long now and you'll be smoking tires on the mean streets of Chicago!
Sorry buddy I was a little out of control with the texts. Tell Gwen I'll send a good bottle of wine for the aggravating text rants!
Uhhhh, no need to torture yourself like that Mario. You need to get rid of that stuff. It just brings back old memories. I'd gladly take it off of your hands. :y0!: :y0!:
Marcus I may just do that! I'll be talking to ya I didn't know you were going silver???

No, not on my Chevelle. It's staying true blue. LOL!! I want it for my C10. I wanted to go charcoal grey, but since you're back to "donating" PPG paint again....silver will do. LOL!!

Rick as crazy as this sounds , I don't know. We went over a few things a couple of weeks ago. But Troy is now in charge of the everything else from here on in. All the show stuff will be his deal. I'm not a show guy so I can really care less.

Can never go wrong with a Hogan intake! I love mine! Although your motor has mine by 72 inches! :D Who's throttle body are you using? Can't wait to see this thing done. I know there are so many advantages of an LS, but it's refreshing to see an ol' rat motor in there!!

I know the feeling about trying to offload the BBC stuff :-(. Got a pile of new race parts I want to turn into more suitable/streetable BBC parts OR LS parts :waveflag: .

I may have mis-interpreted the photos, but it looks like at least some of those containers are for mid-range/low range speakers ? Subwoofers have specific parameters for sealed boxes and work well in that configuration, but most 5-6" woofers and mid ranges are designed for "infinite baffle" or free air mounting. Placing a typical speaker like that in a small enclosure as shown can significantly affect the audio performance in a negative way. If that one set of speaker boxes are mounted in the 1/4 panel or kick panel, I would encourage you to open up the enclosure to an airspace that does not acoustically connect to the interior.

Fab looks great though. The fit on the gill replacement panel is unbelievably tight. Still can't figure out how you experts get from the weld to the smooth panel and make it look like it was never touched though.

Originally the cowl was open because this is where the interior compartment drew fresh air and to access the windshield wiper mechanism. With running the vintage air system and no windshield wipers we no longer need the fresh air. Yes we could have still left it open but that seams care less in my eyes when building a car to this caliber.

the fab work looks amazing!

The only comment I would make is, from experience, sub enclosures made from metal sound terrible, because they ring and flex too much.. Have you tried yours out to see how it sounds?

is it too late to make the box removable in case you decide you dont like the sound, or you want to change the sub etc?

The kick wells should be ok because they dont put out as much energy so can be controlled with damping material.

The sub box is made of heavy wall aluminum and is removable. Audio people often say this can't be done. We have done our re search to do this correctly there is more to it than just building an aluminum box. There are things that have to be done internally as well. We have not tried this specific box for sound but have done this before and if done correctly sounds equally as good as a MDF box and drastically drops the weight. Most importantly it keeps wood out of the car.

Dynamat Extreme and a top layer of 3M thinsulate will take care of that and still be a lot lighter than MDF.

Before I saw the logo at the bottom of the photo, I new it was David Dean. Burnt Bridge Images is his photography name. Super guy, comes to a lot of events in the mid-west and takes killer photos of everyone's cars.

Took a ride out to BBT Sunday to drop some $$$ and go over some things on the car. Things have really picked up just about all the major metal work is done! But there is still ALOT of things to do and thats at BBT. My to do list is big to.Troy and I started to do the numbers/days and they don't add up to meet certain events. The nice thing about building this car on my own dime I don't have to worry about having this car done by a certain time . No short cutting for last minute thrashes. I told Troy I can care less I'm not about the shows and the deadlines. Just want to drive the crap out of this thing!!

That's AWESOME Mario! They probably can't relate to the level of car your building. I always love seeing your updates. Your taking it to a whole nother level!
Come on Al you should know about taking something to a whole different level!!
Bloody hell Mario, I thought that grill was our secret :snapout:

I was without email for about a week, I get your message and then I see you post it.

Looks fantastic Mate, can't wait to see it all finished.
No e-mail.! Check it again.
Wow, awesome! I've had the idea for a standard grille like this ever since I saw the Marquez prototype. Props for having this built!
Well this all started with Marquez. He had a very different idea on how to do this that was very cool . But it just never got off the ground. I was going to scrap the whole thing but I just couldn't get it out of my head. Greening stepped up and got it done!!

One things for sure...after this awesome masterpiece of a car is finished, guys ought to be lining up to bring their car to Troy to be worked on. No better way to advertise than to show superb work and craftsmanship.

We found a few rust spots in the bottoms of the doors a decided it would be best to just install new skins rather than to patch in. Also I really did not want to run the heater lines across the engine bay so we hard lined them up and under the intake to a bulk head on the firewall behind the engine. This will basically keep them hidden for a clean look!
