A quick story. I called Troy a couple of days ago after looking at the Goolsby Lokar Camaro and told him I had to have that rear bumper. As always with Troy, not a problem he already had the bumper and pockets cut but could change it. But he would not do the bumper until he contacted Josh and asked if it was going to be a problem duplicating the rear bumper. Goolsby had no problem with it at all, even told Troy if he needed any info on how it should be done just give them a shout. Now to me thats CLASS! And personaly I think thats how it should be done. It would stop alot of the drama in my opinion. So after Troy sent the update I saw what was done and desided to leave it alone I like it! For me its looks awesome this way. Nice and simple.:D :lateral:
Class Act for sure.
All Included, Troy for calling him and Goolsby for offering to help.
ps I am certain Troy was happy when you decided to leave yours alone.

CLASSY AND CORRECT!
It's okay to copy a guy.... just have the balz to ask if it's okay.
I see a little dig there. We all have to let this good and do a group hug.
Well maybe not Rodger he's to dang tall for us short people and the last thing I would to be hugging is his belly.
Class Act for sure.

You know Troy, he didn't mind either way.:_paranoid

Your telling me Jonathan and I had to stop production , and have an hour long meeting on the pros and cons of "allowing" you to copy the baddest 69 camaro bumper ever and then you decide not to ? c'mon J/k
It looks great , thanks for the compliments and the courtesy of the heads up , it's just a bumper , if no one wanted to do something like it , then it must not be appealing, thanks again though

An hour it took that long? Josh a couple of things factored into my disition. Troy was pretty far along with the original design and put a lot of work into what he did. That is your design and as strange as this sounds I think your car should be finished before any coping is done. After seeing the update I was happy with what Troy did! Bottom line is I see a lot of cool things on this board an can't keep changing everytime I see something I like.. Thanx again Josh you guys are the best!

Rick no finish date has been discused yet. After seeing the work done by Troy I'm going to have him finish ALL the fab work on the car. Right now the wheels are the hold up we need them to ''WIDEN'' the front of the car. And I'm holding that up! I'm painting them today.:willy: I think once Troy gets the wheels then we can get close to a delivery date.

The problem was that the "tip" was FIXED.... so all the nice "wubba" hangers didn't help - because the end was fixed solid. That's what I saw about the way your's is done. It appears to be bolted in place "solid".
Just tossing this out there to help.

The color is Lexus Tiger Eye with a matte clear coat finish. The color changes to almost a black when it gets out of the sun,its a pretty cool effect!I think it will make a great accent color against the black. Note your foot cable all wrapped up in the other cables... Now I'm able to just kick mine with my foot to move it into position and it's never tangled up.

Doesn't surprise me Greg. Alot of the "old school" guys live and die by bondo. That was what the grew up on. I still know of a few "old school" body shops in the hood that will bondo the ish out of your car if you don't know any better. They paint all of the young boys dunks and crap cars who don't want to spend the real money on body work. Sad part about these shops are, they are making a buttload of money doing it and the youngsters ride around thinking they got a candy or a pearl paint job that is top notch.  But, you see them riding down the road and the body work is just was wavy as can be from all of the bondo and poor body work. As long as it shines with plenty of clearcoat they are happy.

Amen brother. Amen

Just waiting for the final bolt up and fitting pictures. Everthing up till now is mock up . Troy wants everthing fit perfect for final pictures. There won't be any of the process, you know how these fabricaters are. Troy put many hours in on this and had zero help in figuring out how to do it. I have to tell you guys this dude gets things done he's no BS!!! He was sending pictures at 3 in the morning quite a few times:_paranoid . He has a great crew in Pete also!! I can't say enough about these guys! I'll be working with him for a long time ! He doesn't no it yet but I'm sending him my nephews 67 GTO I picked up for him a couple of years ago for some mild metal work. This turned out to be one of the smartest things I've done for this project thats for sure.. :lateral:

Hi Skip,
Okay so call me a tease. They said it couldn't be done and look factory stock and he did it and it's going to take an expert to figure out how Troy did it. He also did both sides in less then a week and I am positive there will be almost no filler on the fenders.
The guys at BBT Fab are really good with Metal and they have proved it here.
ps If someone can tell me how to get these pictures off of my Phone I am sure I can figure out how to post them. Naaa I can't do that.

Actually Al -- Boyd was a bondo freak....
Ever watch his show "junkyard dog" --- they bondo'd the gaps and cut 'em with a razor knife.
If you ever watched the show Charlie the painter says no mater how nice a car is it will have bondo. They use to put it on with buckets over there.

I have no experience with body work, but isn't it true that a car will always require at least a skim-coat of filler? Obviously there's a difference between this and slapping on buckets like Floyd Cotterpin may have done but...

Jeff you are correct, even the best of the best use some filler. Take a look at Rad Rides by Troy you will see a skim coat of filler used to give it that very straight and flat look. Not saying it can't be done with out filler but the labor involved would be crazy long. As it is now it takes a loooong time to get them that straight.
Your not going to get away with not using it thats for sure. How much you use is another thing. I'm hoping I us as less as possible...

Mario - I think you have hung out with Marty way to long. This delayed picture posting is not your speed. Your fans have been waiting for week to see Troy join the Elite Sheetmetal guys who pull off what some said was impossible. And your the guy gonna pay the bill for something most people will never notice. If you would have spent all that time and energy on a triple decker spoiler everyone would have noticed that modification.
Now it is possible to not use any bondo, but the metal work required to do that is crazy labor intensive. But the advantage to using the least amount of mudd is the materials shrinkage issue. When you put any materials on they shrink when they dry creating low spots in the paint and if you use a lot of mud in some areas and minor amounts in others you will see it over time. The trick with minimal bondo is to the the car straight from panel to panel so the body man is not having to "cave and pave" each section of the car.
Quit holding out and post some pics for all your fans....

Looking forward to seeing all of those parts too. Are you planning on using their front grille? I know they left enough material on the edges that you can trim to fit and get some of the best fit between the fender and grill of just about any Camaro out there.

Apparently I must not be a "diehard" 69 owner because I just cannot see the stretch in the fender. If someone can point out where the stretch is Id love to be educated on it. I have a ton of work done on mine but unfortunately at the end of the day they still look like bolt ons.
That right there has to be the best boob job in the universe......and I do mean that with the upmost sincerity

Okay Okay there not stretched, there I said it...:D Don't want anyone getting in a post battle over this!! Without going into a ton of detail and the risk of offending anyone. There were several reasons why we decided not to stretch the fenders. I still have the same exact wheel and tire size that Jason has and the exact same offset. We did not make the fenders wider like Ironworks does. I wanted to try something different to get the wheels under the car with full steering lock to lock and we accomplished that. Mario wants to drive this car once its finished and anyone that knows Chicago traffic knows there is always a chance someone will pull right out in front of you! So thats part of the reason we didnt "strech" the fenders. Although I must admit the fronts of the fenders have been highly modified from how they came out of the box......ahhh the love of aftermarket panels.
Thanks for all the compliments.

By the looks of it,The frame rails were modified To clear wider offset wheels or wider tires.

Very Smooth Work.  Look's like they took about 3" out of the width.
Yep I wanted a bigger tire up front. This was all Troy he narrowed the sub 3 inches so I could get the 6-1/4 offset and 295/35/19 tire to fit perfect!! Jason (WAR) gave me all the info I needed to make this happen. We just desided to do it a little different than Jason.
If anyone is going to Indy GOOD GUYS this weekend stop and say high Troy has the Camaro in his booth to show his mad skills and do some promo for his shop.

Very nice but you can't just throw up some pictures and just leave it at that!! Why did you cut the frame up??
In order to fit the tires and back spacing on the wheels it's cheaper to put the frame on a diet then it would be to widen the fenders. If you widen the fenders and then someone hits it gently it would be a huge expense to repair. Being that the frame is tucked in there is last chance of damaging the sub-frame.
Man thats nice Skip!! I have to talk to Troy about getting better lighting also.:D

Good to meet you and Mike at the show Mario ! Thanks for sharing the back story on the car and all the work you guys have done to make it happen. While I will really enjoy this awesome ride when you get her done - I always dig the story of how it came to be. Sounds like there are 4 cars worth of 'new' panels in that deal. I still chuckle when I think about the firewall install story with the 2 porta-powers - glad that didn't come loose guys ! I'll call ya when it's time to install mine .... or not !
Troy is way too young to be this good - so unfortunately I hate him....
See ya after a couple hundred hours of cut and buff !
PS, when I introduced myself to Mike and told him that I was watching this build on Lateral-g... he immediately pulled up his sweat shirt to show me a Lat-g shirt. I'm just glad he had a shirt on under there and wasn't just randomly flashing people with his belly button piercings...
