Just got a knock on the door. My favorite person. My UPS driver! My intake is back from www.Intakeelbows.com (http://www.Intakeelbows.com) . I shipped it out the end of last month, and its back already. He does very nice work, I added a port for my AIT sensor. He said he didn't need to put a bung so he drilled and tapped it for ZIP! It was 408.25 shipped back to me with the polished rails. What a deal, my camara work needs alittle help.
Here's what I sent him

He used my injectors to make the rail hieght.

Looks awesome! that sucker's gonna flow some air, looks like the 4500 version. Cant wait to see it with the throttlebody on it

I think I might have the rails anodized black. We'll se how mu funds are going. Here is a couple of pictures of the maniold with the Throttle body sitting on top of it. I'm going to either need a small spacer or work on the linkage, it touching the fuel rail.
Here it is.

I had a tuff time sleeping last night my wife thinks it from having the intake in bed under my pillow. NOT!

very cool !! With the spacer to clear your linkage you may have to put the air filter through the top of the cowl hood- remember the 70s

Just an FYI, the Accel website has that same manifold and throttle body ready to install with rails etc. They are good manifolds, should work well.
BTW that's a big throttle body, whats your engine combo?

Thats the intake that was on the motor from World products. The motor is there Hardcore 454 small block. Its got 220 runner heads with a 2.125 intake valve. It came with a 1050 Dominator that I figured would be a pain on the street so I'm making the swap to Fast XFI set up. I'm going to run 50 lb injectors. This TB should work out fine as I read many time itts not like a carb, you cant over flow it with cfm's because the ECU controls the fuel to match air flow.
Rich your right its going to be a pain with the linkage. I may have to give you a shout, and by the way my wife says I'm stuck in the 70's. I don't know why those platform shoes and plad pants are bound to come back in style. lol

Not really, I gaurantee you you'll have better throttle response with a smaller TB. If it had a 1050 on it why are you going to run a 1600 or 2000 cfm throttle body? Do you plan on picking up 30% more power? Probably not huh. Not trying to be a jerk, just giving you some real world experiences. Plus the ECM will just mantain the programmed Air/Fuel, doesn't have anything to do with airflow velocity, and unless you're making over 650 hp, 50# injectors are way too big. I made 620 on a 427W with 42's no problem. I'd also recommend going sequential if you're not already. That will help low rpm throttle response as well.
BTW, have you bought your FAST setup already?

Good advice.
My 427 sbc ran Canfield 220 heads -- and used 42# injectors...

Heres the little brother to Wayne's throttle body, flows 1200 to 1300 cfm, I did near 550 ftlbs @ flywheel with 42's in a mitchell 427sb. Extremely mild cam, I believe theres easily 600 in it using the 42s. The throttle response is very quick.
I wonder why Wilson milled the injector bung bosses almost completely off before installing and welding the bungs, hmm?

I have both 50#'s and a set of 42#'s so if I need to I can change them out. The throttle body is a 2" bore, plus I have a Fast 4150 throttle body like the one Rich used if I need to. As far as the intake, I wanted to keep the one the engine came with.
supreemefi No offence taken I'm as rookie as it gets. I have both set ups this is the one I wanted to run, if it doesn't work I'll go with the other set up.

Wayne --
You run that thing pig fat and you'll knock the oil rings right out of it -- and it will forever use oil...
Go smaller... and if it's a little lean on the top - then boost the fuel pressure a couple pounds. Remember that injectors are "rated" at 43 #'s of pressure -- they'll flow plenty more at 45 or 50 even.... and the thing will idle FAR better with the 42's than it will with the 50's... TRUST US.

X2 except you can run anything pig fat with a small throttle body and little injectors as well, just harder to do.
I guess he has money to burn, wish I did!
And I hate to be the bearer of bad news but unless you saw the dyno sheet/session yourself, you better bank on the true hp being much closer to 550, all the more reason to use the 42's.
We had one of these on a Superflow 901 dyno in Jacksonville Fl. Best we saw was 498 after a day of tuning. But once you get it dialed in you'll be able to tell the true hp by using the fueling table. They're normally pretty close to the real thing.

No extra money here just the engine came with one intake and carb. then got the B2B Fast and decide to get the XFI. I traded for some of the parts.
I'll use the 42's I'm not married to the 50s.
