Default I swear I just can't get ahead on my 79 TA

I finally got everything I need to get the front suspension back together. I had redone it all - B-body 12" spindles, 1LE rotors, powdercoated a-arms and spindle, poly bushings, diesel S-10 springs, etc. Well, the car never sat right, always too high. So I ordered some Hotchkis springs and Speedway tubular a-arms with the Moog ball joints they sell with them.

So last night I go to get it all together and the damn ball joints don't work. The bolt shaft won't fit all the way through the bolt hole in the spindle. WTF, there is only like 1/8" showing!

The old ball joints on the stock a-arm worked fine with the stock spindle and the b-body spindle, so if these are 2nd gen ball joints, then they should fit.

I am pissed, every time I try and get this thing together something else pops up. I'm almost ready to sell it and start over.

I had the drill in hand all ready to do that, but then I thought about something. These ball joints are supposed to fit, so what happens when I replace them at some point and the new ones are correct and then I have wallowed out holes.

I'm gonna call today and verify before I do anything, then comes to drill.
