Default Tell me what you think of these ideas (Nova)

Alright everyone, I've been tossing ideas around in my head for my 66 nova. Right now, I'm going to try and work off somekind of budget. As for paint, I'm thinking you basic black BC/CC on everything but the hood and decklid. As for those 2 pieces I'm thinking a satin black. Drivetrain: I want something different and lets face it, I don't need 600hp in this car b/c its gonna be my DD once I sell my yukon. Having said that I'm gonna build a 302 sbc from a 327 block/283 crank, decent aluminum heads, solid roller, thinking 350hp is not unreachable by any means. 200r-4 trans or if I somehow scrape up some extra doe TKO600. Keeping the 10bolt rear and rebuilding with a tru-trac, and 30spline axles. Suspension: Up in the air but : CPP lower control arm kit, 2" drop spindles. rebuild/replace worn items. Rims/tires: thinking some kind of bmw wheel, I saw a bunch on ebay, and I don't have 2K to spend on them. Brakes: will be a small wilwood setup or 11" upgrade kit from CPP. Thats all for now. Shoot me some ideas and sorry for the long post

I love it. A sensible hot rod. 350 will seem like alot in that little car. The BMW wheels are in my head as well. You can get a set for the price of 2 after market wheels. I just haven't figured out the backspacing for them yet. The hood and the deck lid in satin? The whole thing ? I think satin stripes would be more subtle. But I have been wrong once before.

what engine is in it now?? if you are shooting for budget id stick with what youve got now, or go as big displacement-wise as budgt allows.. i mean a 383 and a 327 will cost almost exactly the same to build, but the added displacement is free horsepower when you compare the two.. my advice would be to get some PAW kit that suits your fancy and take it from there..

rear end wise you could also install a torsen diff and ring/pinion from a late model camaro, they are cheap on ebay.. all youd need was 27 spline axels from Moser,
