Default Quarter panel Question

Is my rear quarter on my 68 camaro suppose to have the indentation in it? it's on both sides. i'm new to the muscle car scene so be easy on me. thanks guys

no it looks like someone did some repair work there.Look and see what the back side looks like

The car had/has a spoiler correct? Looks like the spoiler was a little close to the quarter and dented it when shutting the trunk. Or someone did that to make the spoiler sit closer to the quarter panels and look better...Not a feature GM provided on the 68.

The car didnt come with a spoiler, but I tried bolting up one and the holes didn't line up. That explains a lot Thanks!
