Default HELP!!!!!.. Need help with colors and design

Hi s..orry to bother everyone.. but saw some great new concept and drawings on this forum and thought I'd post.. I'm working on a pro touring style 68 camaro convert (ls-2,ford 9", 17" kmc "hot wheels" tires, G/W upper's etc..)
anyway my model and inspiration was a hugger orange and white "hot wheel" model pictured below.. I asked for some comments on the pro touring site and most don't seem to like the design.. my hope is I could get some honest opninions here and maybe some help with a new design or touch.. (i'm sort of sold on the hugger orange color.as well as my wife).. anyway here's the picture..please give honest comments..idea's, new drawing or any other help
thanks.. getting close in the next 2 months to start the paint

Personally, I don't care for that stripe design. IMO, keep it closer to the factory style. I do like the colors, though.

i agree that the stripe could use some tweaking. i think the problem is that it's TOO much stripe - the whole front end. at the same time, everyone and their dog's cat has a camaro so something new would be nice. rather than the stripe covering the whole nose, maybe it should stop in the middle of the wheel well like the original stripe but maybe start thicker like the one pictured - maybe without the pin stripe ... i can't tell if the picture shows one or not. if you already like having a lot of white up front then the spoiler could be white as well.

maybe i could say maybe more .... i also don't like the curve of the stripe where it comes off the hood. i'd make it straighter (less curved) and angled back more

Looks like somebody held it by the back bumper and dipped it in white paint, then left it to dry standing on the back bumper. In short, the stripe is way too heavy but it can be saved. Combine that stripe with elements from 67 and 68 stripes and you'll be ok, like outlining it with a this stripe and leaving color on the leading edge and valance of the car.

If you're building a custom car, you should also consider a custom blend of Hugger Orange instead of the muddy brown original color. No offense to anyone running Hugger Orange but hold a chip next to a House of Kolors orange and it looks like pumpkin pie filling. Take a look at the modern version of the color on the Camaro convertible concept car that was in all the magazines a couple months ago and you'll get the picture. Then, make the stripe bright silver or pearl white and you'll have something unique.

And when in doubt, hire a professional designer. Not a shameless plug, but friendly professional advice for the many people with a similar dilemma. Our services are way cheaper than an un-pleasing paint job. I would rather have you hire my biggest competition, (who I'm probably friends with anyways) then paint it and regret it or debut an ugly car on another thread here.

You wouldn't build your dream home without blueprints, would you?

Wow, Jason read my mind....almost word for word on every point, especially the dipped in white paint look. I feel like I'm in the Twillight Zone or something. Creepy......

LOL! Great minds think alike, Buddy.

There you have it, two pros chimed in on your thread. Is this a great forum or what?

i think the stripe should go up and over the front wheel opening. That way it draws the eye down the car instead of making the eye focus on the front wheel.

Default Thanks for all the help.. need more

I'm thinking now I'm going to Double the size of the front stripe... that will take the front white/silver stripe to about 1/3 of the way down the front wheel well (if I cover the entire front wheel well it will take up 75% of the hood) it should cover about 20% of the front hood as well as the entire bumper area.. I think those are great suggestions.. i'll try and paint my model and take a picture of it and post it.. any suggestions for the side pin stripe (arrow)if I expand and double the size of the front stripe?? all suggestions have been great.. I'm looking for a different color hugger orange.. not so brown .. I was thinking that of that as well but the suggestions convinced me.. any other tips? everyone has been great..

thanks in advance

Looks like it is trying to hard to be different. Did I say that?

Works on a toy. I bet it is hideous on a real car.
