Default Opinion Poll – Interior - Keep it SS or lose it

I need help. My car is an original RS/SS, not sure if that really matters. I am going to get the interior re-done, in about two week’s time.

My problem…..the car is now far from stock, in most ways.

But, it did originally come with the SS deluxe interior, and has original head rest seats, and a fold down rear seat, which is all still intact.

I am not sure if I should stick with the SS interior, white strips and all, or lose it and get new seats and go all black, when I re-do it.

I am not sure I like the white SS stripes on the interior, but given the options the car “had” it almost seems as if I should keep it in the form it was “born” with.

The interior you see is all original, with the exception that years ago the white stripes were “painted” red.

Please help, what do you think?

Steve

Thanks for the input Jim, I really appreciate it, I don't think the red looks bad. I'm just not sure I want to go back to the stripes being white, i.e., the original SS interior, or go with all black.

The interior looks nice the way it is, but you should do whatever you want. It's your car and you should do what you like, not anyone else. I like a nice custom interior myself, but you should make it whatever you want. You're building the car for you, not someone else. Hope this helps.

Default Black

My vote FWIW is all black stock interior... look at SWs interiors in his T/A, and 69 Mustang and Camaro. All black, stock, clean & classy.

Ty

I am struggling with the same decision right now... go stock seats ot aftermarket. I will have aftermarket steering wheel, dash, gauges, etc. but would like to maintain some sign of originality, and after seeing your seats I really like yours. Don't see the red stripes often - that looks very good. I would stay with it what you have as long as it is comfortable for you and you dig it.

Great car.
