BMW theft protection question
I have been looking at a 07 BMW X5 and was curious of how good their theft protection is? When the key is out and the doors are locked is it pretty secure? I have had my other rigs jimmied enough thay have all been broken into pretty easy actually, never stolen but just curious as to how good their system is.
Thanks,
M

they are unstealable, unless you tow them ofcourse.. with regards to break-ins, well they are made by clever people, put people non the less.. so they can be opened.. i mean the glass isnt unbreakable, but both bmw and mercedes get prety high scores when they are tested for security..
but id still keep my insurance and not leave anything too interestion on the seats when parked out..

My old late 80's 3 series had special codes you punched into the computers if you wanted to take it that far, but other wise I'd say there pretty good,

bmw's are a beeothch to break into, the only way we get into them is with the key, the lock assy's are made to spin freely if they are being turned with anything but the key, and the lock assy's are protected good inside the door. Also when you lock them with the key or remote they go into what bmw calls "double lock" where the only way they can be opened is with the key or remote, the lock actually pins itself shut.
