I saw on Discovery Europe a month ago a series about the Williams F1 Team. There was one guy who made the headers for the cars. I think they were made from stainless steel of some special alloy. Anyway they showed a short clip of the red glowing pipes and thay said that when running on full power the headers pipes were almost transluscent!

Looks much the same here.

Most of their stuff is Inconel (aka Unobtanium for the average joe's budjet)
