Default Most Bologna reason you've been pulled over?

Since my last thread with "stupidest automotive stories" went so well i thought this might be entertaining as well. so here goes.

Mind you, my wife works in law enforcement and i have lots of cop friends and have the upmost respect for cops...however... sometimes i wonder.

I've been pulled over for the dumbest things... once i got pulled over for 'driving suspiciously'... wtf is that? I was lost in a neighborhood i'd never been to... it was dark... and it was raining. No ticket.

Last BS one happened when i ran a green light... yep, i got pulled over for running a green light. Cop said i ran a red, i had to inform him that one that particular light, there was a green right turn arrow... that WAS F'n LIT UP!!! No ticket. Just some bored cop.

3rd... got pulled over for "speeding"... the hell i was, i knew i was going 45 in a 45, trust me, i looked. The bullship lady cop tried to pull some "well your plates are whiskey plates"... no they arent, i know what they look like, neither me or anyone in my family has ever gotten a DUI. No ticket either, i was told to calm down because i was so pissed she pulled me over for such a dumb reason. HAHA. Jerk.

Got a ticket once for passing on a double yellow. I guess you're not supposed do that?

I had a friend who got caught speeding... i was sitting shotgun...

Officer - "Do you know why i pulled you over?"
Buddy - "Uhhh... nope"
Officer - "you were speeding"
Buddy - "Is that wrong? *smirk*"

The cop let him off because he made her laugh... it was the best response i'd ever heard! LOL

Got pulled over after I blasted past a cop coming the other direction. I knew I was speeding at the time so like a responsible citizen I admitted it. He said' "I know. That's okay, I only pulled you over to ask you if it's for sale." It wasn't at the time but we opened the hood and he oogled over it for a few minutes.

My first ticket(s), Fourteen yrs old, on a motorcycle.

66 in a 35
No passing zone
School zone
Reckless driving

I pulled out to pass a car that was only running 25mph. Went I got beside the car, they floored it so I would not pass them. They was driving a Ford Escort, so I down shifted and blew there ass away. In the middle of the drag race, we passed a cop that was clocking people in a school zone. He ended up pulling both of us over, and he gave them a speeding ticket, and threw the book at me.

We ended up in court the same day, and I got the tell the judge my side of the story. He questioned the other driver, and he dropped all charges except for speeding. Still cost me $238 bucks, and that was in 1989.

I was on my property riding a wheelie on my motorcycle, a cop drove by watched me then gave me a reckless driving...... That is no joke he said I could hurt myself and I even took it to court and lost, aparenty in this county on private property they can give dui or reckless.. If they see fit, lets hope that ass hat does not feel like going to the race track

Wink

My wife once got pulled over in my Z28 so the cop could check out my car. She was initially pissed at me because she was running late and thought I called the cops on her. The guy asked her to pop the hood and everything! ( It did have a tankful of 100 octane and smelled good, so I think that got his interest )

In my much younger days, I worked at a tire store and thus, had access to all kinds of free used tires. During one of my daily monster brake stands for the neighbors, a cop came down a side street and watched the whole thing. The neighbor was able to see the whole event unfold and said the cop had to wait awhile for all the smoke to clear before he could take off and catch me! I never seen him the whole time.

A mile down the road I see a cop car basically in my trunk. He seemed to appear out of nowhere and he wasn't too happy. I got pulled over and he comes to the window and says "What kind of stunt was that!?" Thinking he didn't see my smoke show, I played dumb and said "What stunt?" It looked like a vein in his head was going to burst.

The ticket was for 'unnecessary/unreasonable acceleration' but went on my record as a speed. Dang it.

In minnesota we have a "whiskey" plate, that is completely white in color, very different from the standard blue and white license plate. It is a 5-7 letter/number plate that usually starts with WT9840 or WS8233... (started with W, hence "whiskey" or DUI) to let the cops and other drivers know they've been convicted of a DUI. The police used to be able to pull those people over without cause, but now they have to have some reason to pull them over.
