(Looking around a 1500 - 1600$ kinda deal i'd say. We had it at 1550$ shipped from Fred Beans but he left the dealership before doing the GP. LAPD is taking over ---No worry! Its a speed shop! Not the Police!!!)

FINALLY!!! A car without rust repairs ever!!! None before, none coming!!! Cant come to modifying it tough....
...So, '67 Camaro project with my laying around stuff out of my black 'vert. 468 BB and YSI blower, braked th400, 12 bolt/spool, 35 splines etc. Complete Calvert suspension front and rear. 30x13.5 ET Streets, caged, lightened, slammed and running low 9's "Street car"

If you search on the C6 Z06 forum of that board you'll find that few are happy with the stock C6 Z brakes. They are upgrading to something else, especially if they track their car.

Hey Jody,
I read almost everything i could find on C6 Z06 brakes and know what you mean. But for a street or light race application car its hard to beat!
I have looked around and i don't want to pay 5 grand for a brake system
(ridiculous for my use and Z06's seem to perform VERY well as long as you don't go for hard racing on a prolonged period)
That kit is great for what i entend to do with my car so i only tought i'd share.

I'm thinking about getting a set for my new project. I really need some bling brakes to offset the rest of the car, you think baer makes some adapter brackets for it?
but really, its cool if you know that you aren't going to demand a lot out of your brakes and like them because of the looks. At least your keeping it real

Enough of the "i heard this and this...." It comes on a 70K dollar car for x sakes!!! It has to be at least better than my four wheel drums and at least better than a stock 12" set up???????? and just try to do better for that amount$!?

The stock brakes are just fine for street use and "easy" driving school/casual track use, but if you go to any track day and look inside the wheels or check the message boards most guys who track their C6-Z06's replace the brakes as one of the first things. I've seen Stoptech, Brembo, and AP on C6-Z06's at the track and all guys said they were a vast improvement over the stock brakes. One of the guys I spoke with said the 2-piece Brembo front rotors were something like 7 lbs lighter EACH than the factory rotors-- that's huge! They also said the stock brakes were fine on the street but their issues showed up on the track.
Push them hard and you run into pad taper issues, pad replacement is more expensive than "conventional" 2-pad calipers, the rotors are HEAVY (and to top if off one is vaned the wrong way.)
What are you *really* after in the car? If you want good brakes for not a lot of money go with C5/C6 standard PBR's. They are damn fine brakes and don't have the pad taper issues, pads are cheaper, etc. They just don't look as "bling" as the C6-Z06 brakes but are probably the BEST brakes in terms of price/performance out there for street cars that see occasional track days. To do much better than the C5/C6 PBR's you're now into the territory of AP, Stoptech, Brembo, and so on and are probably looking at least $2K per axle. The only real issue I've ever seen with C5/C6 PBRs is the same issue you see with any streetworthy caliper with the extra dust seals-- if you don't take a cooldown lap you'll melt the dust seals when you park the car. This isn't an issue on racing calipers because they don't have the extra external dust seals that "street" calipers have.
I have driven a C6-Z06 and found the brakes to be adequate for my "test drive" which was on the *street* which did admittedly include several very fast stops from high speed. They did not fade and the pedal felt good. I did not experience or witness any of the issues that the brakes have-- which always appear on the track during prolonged heavy use. Also, after test driving I did not ask my friend if I could put his car up on the rack, pull the wheels and mic the pad thickness. Although I would have done it if he said yes.

Not a good line of argument. Ford shipped their $150K GT's with defective control arms (14K in parts alone), undersize rear sealing areas on the crankshafts causing rear main leaks (believe it or not a speedi-sleeve was the warranty repair!) and some had improperly casted heads. Doesn't matter how much the darn thing costs, it can still be screwed up from the manufacturer either as a defect or a design flaw.

Yes I suppose the 7 page thread we had previously didn't have enough info for you?? Your question has already been answered at least 3x over now. BUT its okay because you have already said you won't be putting your car through a lot of abuse, so they will work for you. Some of us just have different trains of thought when putting together a car. Some of us really get off on aesthetics and some are all about performance. I personallly like both, and after having these exact brakes in my hand mounted on my car and drooling over how "cool" they looked. I finally saw the light, sold them for a $500 profit and put my regular C5 brakes back on. Just put them on your car already, I'm sure they'll work fine, but when some guy at the gas station thinks your driving a race car because you have "big looking" brakes, don't let your head get too big

Never mind...
I was only trying to help by letting "Others" know about the deal that's going on...I know what "I" need to know already (yes the 7 pages we're enough) but this thread was meant to, again, Inform others of the saving that can be had if you are in the market for a worthless, probably too expensive for what it is, bling only, you don't know what you're doing installing this, i have my way and yours is questionnable brake system.
Don't take it to me. I read what i needed to many times. My decision is taken, i'm ordering them because the price suits me at this point. I might buy aftermarket Rotors later, but for now thats it. Just trying to help (even tough at this point people might think i'm trying to put a brick into their project  with your comments haha!!!)
Ok, let this thread die alone now. Your point is made and the brakes are on special with a GROUP purchase...That must at least mean that ...I won't be making my error alone!!!
Then again....Thinking of it, Just a few weeks ago i was being called a poser because i wanted to run an Air ride system. Whaddaya know! Now everybody has fallen on theis a$$es because we saw it could be made to work!!!
Hey, i'm just having fun here (and not taking this seriously- comments, not the brakes) and i'll surely post pics of my car with its new Forgelines 19 and yes, poser 20 inch wheels + 14" brakes after Christmas.
(Car is getting tubbed this week end and am expecting my DSE frame connectors on thursday)
Come summertime, i'll make sure to let you know how it breaks too!
