Default Infiniti G35 Sedan

Long time member, first time poster. We are in the market for a new car for the wife. Currently we have an 02 Audi Quattro 1.8t, but are in the market for something new. We looked at a new 06 Audi Quattro 2.0T, but the dealership does not want to bargin on the price too much. We went to the Infiniti dealer and looked at the G35 Sedan (my mother inlaw has a coupe and suggested we look at the sedan). They appear to be nice cars and the test drive was fun . Does anyone have experience with the quality of Infiniti products? We are looking at the 06 G35 Sedan with the premier and sport packages. Any information would be appreciated

I've had a G35 coupe for about a year now and am very happy with the car. No issues at all and I have been treated well at the dealer when I have gone in for regular service. Only criticism could be that the service department gets a bit cross-eyed every time I talk about performance upgrades...

Infinity=Nissan basically.

The G35 coupe/sedan I beleive, when it was first released in the states was based around the same platform that the skyline in Japan is based on. The New GT-R Shows quite a kin to the G-35. That would be where the performance feel comes from. If I were in the market for a NEW sedan, that would be up around the top of my list

Currently one of my top 3 favorite cars in styling. haven't heard any complaints about them mechanically yet.

Did Nissan ever iron out the front tire wear & alignment issues with the 350Z/G35 platform?

Fun cars to drive, well built, and look good... really good.

Don't know what tranny you are looking at, but the 6-speed sticks in the 350Z/G35 platform went through 9 revisions (I think it was 9, it was quite a few!) because of little issues. If you're buying the latest and greatest then this isn't a problem.

I almost bought a G35 Coupe last year but ended up taking home my Subaru STI. The G35 was just too "soft" for me.

I have an 05 for sale. I know you are looking at a new one, but could save you a few thousand on the price of a new one. Am asking $25k. See the link below for my ad.

Let me know if you are interested. I don't know what is in the premium package, but I have everything but reclining rear seats and dual climate control. I have Sirius Radio and installed my own sports package when I replaced both shocks and springs and added the sport sedan wheels.

I bought one of the coupes when they first came out, the six speed hot rod version. I generally liked the car, but the thing that I couldn't tolerate was the sheer lack of quality in the interior. Everything felt, and was, "cheap." On my car, the panels and such started to shake rattle and roll, all within a few thousand miles, and kept getting worse. One on the center console, if I recall kept popping out of it's clips, it was anoying as anything.

The car makes a great exhaust note, had really nice power and pretty darned good handling for a stock car. I ended up trading mine, however, I just wasn't in love with it. I paid full sticker for it, and after less than a year, I got within a few grand on trade because they were still hard to get at that point. I'd guess the story is very different now.

I drove a G35 Coupe 6 speed performance version (about 100 yards, I had to move it).

Honestly, I was really impressed.

Another car I have driven that made me actually take the GTO and the new mustang off my wish list, was a 2002 Audi A6 4.2 S-line. That, is one smooth, comfortable, awesome handling car. The one I drove had 40k miles and everything was like new, no rattles no noises, nothin but smooth. I drove that one about 50 miles all together. Not sure what their warranty is, but if you are considering used.....
