Default U-joint question

Is it bad that the u-bolt overlaps the cap on the u-joint by about 1/2? Normal or wrong u-joint?

Its normal on that type of yolk. The only thing you need to worry about is, that the u-joint cap fits the yolk and is the proper width in the yolk itself.

I finally found out that the U-joint I had was too small. I had to have the end of my driveshaft replaced for the larger U-joint size to match the yoke.
