Default trunk hinges

George,
I keep looking at these hinges as I like the look
but then I go to my car and wonder how in the world do
you install them... looks like the two rods have to be
taken out and the only way I see that done is removing
the panel above... not easy on my car since it was bondo
repaired many years back

Am I missing something??

You are seeing it correctly - it's an involved process!
