Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner said officials are still trying to get more details from Minnesota authorities regarding the collision.

Wagner said police got word around 5:20 a.m. Tuesday that the VIN number of the stolen Camaro, seen at a Restore a Muscle Car restoration shop Friday morning, matched the one that crashed 40 miles west of Albert Lea, Minnesota.

The Camaro has been entered into the National Crime Information Center, and the Faribault County Sheriff's Office matched the vehicle after they responded to the single vehicle crash.

The driver, Tanner Goodrich, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Accelerating is optional...........stopping is mandatory. Your car WILL stop one way or another.

Sorry, but he got what was coming to him. Although it's hard for me to, I can look past being a thief, but harming a defenseless child is another....screw you. I cannot stand a person that harms kids and the elderly. Those are two of the most helpless and defenseless groups of people. So, for someone to harm them, in my opinion, is a coward ten times over. I have no sympathy or empathy for those types of individuals.
