Default SOLD-Zero mile GM Performance ZZ383-SOLD

SOLD

Item Location (City/State): Owings, Maryland

Price: $3850

Description:
I bought this for my '67 Camaro pro-touring project that went sideways. One of the only good things to come back from a shady restoration shop was the GM Performance ZZ383 425hp/449ft/lbs tq engine. I had just finished stripping her down to a bare block and putting a fresh coat of high temp paint on her and so she is ready to go. This engine is pretty much perfect. I was going to save this for a future project, but finances are tough and she has to go. My loss, someone's big gain.

I say "pretty much perfect, because when we picked up the shell of my Camaro from "A shady custom shop" in Orlando, Florida, the owner (Frank) had lightly dented the bottom of the oil pan. I have replaced the valve covers with brand new GM Performance upgraded center bolt valve covers that come on the deluxe 450hp version of the ZZ383 (I have the stock ZZ383 valve covers and you can have them also). The dent in the oil pan is superficial and will not affect the operation of the oil pan/pump. You could drop the pan and bang out the dent if you want, but you'd probably have to touch up the paint afterwards.

I will sell the engine as a short block for $3850 (that's a $3030 savings from the GM Performance price of $6882)

or if you want a complete ZZ383 with an Edelbrock Air Gap Performer aluminum intake and 1"phenol carburator spacer and thermostat housing, plus a few other bits and pieces to include a rolling engine cradle. I''ll sell it all for $4500. That's about $7800 worth of engine and parts for $4500 (save yourself over $3300 for you transmission and more!).

Email me for some pics of when I was prepping and painting the engine.

You can read all about this GM motor at this link:

George- glad you sold the motor quickly. I hope you eventually get another car and enjoy the hobby down the road. Here's a pic of your 67. I still have a few little odds and ends to finish up, but it's been on the road for about 6 months now. Scott

Scott, she looks awesome! Thanks for taking her and making her roadworthy, that Camaro deserved to be completed and back on the road! I'm forever jealous. Let me know if you ever are looking to sell her.
