Speartech LT4/8L90 Development

We've had a swap friendly harness control system for the new Chevy Gen 5 series of V8 engines - the LT1, L83, and L86 available for about a year. Now we have been focusing on the new 8L90 transmission and we have a new crate LT4 in the shop, mated the two together and are developing a swap friendly harness package for them. We have acquired a nice '69 Chevy C10 to swap the powertrain into, and that's what we are currently working on. We do this to iron out all of the details so we can manufacture our harnesses and know they work out in the real world! And as always, each and every harness we build, are built and tested on a live engine and test ran with a GM Tech 2 diagnostic scan tool hooked up to ensure everything is 100%, prior to shipping any harness out. We manufacture and test each and every harness we build in this fashion.

And more recently, we have a video to show it running and going through all the gears, as indicated by our gear indicator, which can easily plug into your OBD2 port (if you're not using our harness) or our integrated connector (we include an integrated gear indicator connector on all of our LSx 6L80 and 6L90 harnesses, which is why we originally offered this gear indicator). These new Gen 5 swap harnesses still utilize our familiar and easy "3 wire hook-up" - ignition switch, battery, and fuel pump and your project is running! Here is the video:

For those interested in the new Gen 5 engines - we offer standalone swap harnesses and packages for the LT1, L83, and L86 engines when used with a 6L80, 6L90, or manual transmission. We offer LT4 swap harnesses when used with a manual transmission at this time. Once we iron out all the details with the 8L90, we will add that to the list of available new Gen 5 swap harness combinations.
