Default Nooooob

Hey guys,
Just registered on this site. Was directed here after seeing some of the 3d models. I am an architectutal designer by trade, a 3d modeler by education. Ultimatelly, I would like to learn how to design and model automobiles. I have modelled a couple vehicles, but I really they were just shells.

If anyone can point me to some decent tutorials, I'd appreciate it. I am somewhat skilled as a modeller and prefer Maya, but use Max frequently.

At first I thought this was a Chevy forum, lots of Novas and Cameros. I love both of those, but I am a Rotor Head! I own a RX7 T2 and am having my engine built and tuned for 300+ HP with a wide torque range. Oh yea, with the stock turbo.

Heres a pic for now.

Kris Horton, Bo Zolland or Tom Sullivan could probably point you in the right direction as far as 3D modeling. Kris and Bo use Max I believe. The rest of us still us stick to 2D stuff pretty much. If you can't catch them online here try PMing them. You can find their names in the members list I think.

What school did you go to? Please show us some of your work. I promise we won't bite....much.

We'll let you slide on the Mazda thing, not a 69 Camaro but still a cool car.

Thanks for the reference. I'll try to find those guys. I know I've already seen some of their work.

I went to 4 different colleges, but finally got a BA from the Art Institute. Dont let the name fool you, we mostly learned software. Although, I do love to draw.

I'll try to dig up some of my old work once I get home. As far as the biting goes, I always appreciate an honest critic, so if I post it, I'd like to hear em.

Well thanks for the warm welcome.

BTW HDesign, Nice portfolio Site.
Mines down temporarily, trying to get it back up soon.

HA! Stats... Ya, well the stats on that one are untouchable so I wont even go into detail on the wife.

But the car...
Basically its in pieces right now. Getting new engine and rebuilt turbo. It'll be a studded, polyDyn coated block. Ported and tuned for about 12 - 16 psi. No Cats, or any emissions for that matter. I'll post pics along the way.
