Thumbs down I learned from a good source

Found out that Edelbrock has been sold. The buyers are said to be from where all the cheap crap is made. So sad. Is there anything made in America anymore? I try to do my best and avoid China crap. Refuse to buy anything at Harbor Freight. Sad days.

Please post your "good source" or stop adding fuel to a baseless rumor.

The only thing I have seen lately about Edelbrock (bought/sold) was written in the 03/16 issue of Hot Rod. David Kennedy interviewed Tom Tomlinson (Holley CEO) on what company is next on his list of acquisitions. Tom had this to say:

Is Edelbrock Next on the List?
Tomlinson says, “I love the brand. I love what Vic has done with it. We’ve got a list of top brands, and Edelbrock is certainly one of the top brands. It’s a storied brand with great products. Whether we could ever put it into the fold depends on a great many things, including what the economics of it look like. I would be delighted to add it to our portfolio, but whether we do, we’ll just have to wait and see.”

One of the highlights of my career was in 2009 when I went out to see Vic. He knew stories about Holley we didn’t know. You know the Holley catalog used to list Edelbrock manifolds in it, and the Edelbrock catalog used to have Holley carburetors in it. At some point, the powers that be decided they were going to compete against each other—and the dynamic changed.

If you search edelbrock on import genius they sure receive many shipments from China. So one or many of their divisions are using something sourced from China, be it raw materials or castings or other parts .
