Default Aluminum SBC heads

It's time for the iron Vortecs to go, GMPP Fastburn ZZ4 heads would be a direct swap but I'd entertain other options as well if something interesting appears.

I want to upgrade the cam at the same time so it'll all have to work together on my HT383 short block.

ZZ4 and Aluminum fastburn are not the same.
ZZ4 has a 58cc chamber and do not perform like the Fastburn does.

The Fastburn aluminum heads are awesome.
Check some dirt racing forums.
I saw a set on CL awhile back for 500.

Yep, I learned that last night. Thanks...

I found a set of brand new fastburns local last night along with a cam that all came out of a 604 crate engine. I'm trying to verify the specs on the cam now to see if it fits my needs.

I know I want those heads though, they along with some slimmer head gaskets should really wake my little truck engine up.

That cam pulls from idle to 5800ish.
They turn the 604 crates as high as 6800.

That was what cam was in my motor.
The only thing I did not like, was at idle, it sounded like a 305.
No cam hit at all. I mean none.

I put an XR282HR in my motor. Sounds awesome.

Pulls past 6000.

I really do not care about the sound at idle, I'd rather have a cam that pulled some vacuum since it is still a street driven car.

And I really don't think I'll ever rev it past 6,000 RPM either. Part of the reason I've held off this long on cracking the seal on this crate engine is I'm very interested in longevity and I want to keep this engine alive. I'm now just at the point that I'd like it to "live" in the upper RPM range a bit.

I'm going to talk to the guy with the heads and cam this afternoon. Sounds pretty interesting though. He says it's all brand new, complete, and never been fired.

That cam should work fine for you then.

You could also look at the ZZ383 cam.
I have heard several of those, and they have a mild idle.

Looks like we can wrap this thread up...

GM Fastburn heads with upgraded Beehive springs and Chrome Moly keepers were the main score, the rest of the parts were just part of the package. I may end up using the cam, still trying to decide. It's from a 604 crate which is also the same cam used in the Fastburn 385 GM used to sell.

Let the fun begin!!!

Default BN Edelbrock SBC Aluminum Heads 60719

I saw that you found something but also know that, us, car builders tend to change our mind quite often in these builds so I thought I would put it out there just in case...

I have a brand new set of Edelbrock SBC Aluminum heads part# 60719 that have never been even been mounted. More information on heads can be found here:

http://www.jegs.com/i/Edelbrock/350/60719/10002/-1

Jegs has them listed at $762.72 per head but I am willing to let these go for $1,000 + shipping. If interested, I can send pictures but they are brand new.

Call Eric Weingartner. His prices are VERY VERY REASONABLE.

I picked up 100 rwhp with his heads and a Steve Taylor PRC Carb
