Default Does everyone at UPS hate their job?

I don't know what's up with my local UPS office, but I swear everyone there hates their job and takes it out on the customer. It must really suck to have people want to come into their place of business and want to give them money.

Ok, end rant. lol

Default Ups

Scott,

I own a company that deals with UPS on a daily basis (1 drop off and 1 pick up) and my experience with my sales rep and the drivers has been exceptional. It probably helps the office/warehouse is in a really small town, but the driver we have is the best in the business. We can tell the UPS guy that we are leaving early (like Monday, July 3rd) and he will drop off at 7:30 am instead of 9 and will be back for pick up at noon. Outstanding! It sounds like you are describing the local post office in my neck of the woods!

in comic book guy voice "WORST, Post office EVER"

I don't deal much with UPS. Their rates are WAY too high.

For their rates. Next time you ship something freight, look into UPS freight. There the cheepest around...... I only use UPS. Their customer service is worth the extra buck.

Greyhound bus is the cheapest freight in my experience. UPS is too high.

The UPS delivery guy that stops at my house is great. I just had issues with a few people at the office where I had to ship a couple packages. That's my biggest pet peave - you go into a place of business and they act like you're bothering them.

Oh, and I should note that I shipped via UPS because it was billed to an existing UPS customer account number.

My fiance just left UPS 2 weeks ago. She started her new job with Whirlpool monday. She hated UPS. If you are union you are OK they will NOT let you have over 40hrs/wk. If you are management you are expected to work at least 10 hrs/ day not counting your lunch. She averaged 75hrs/ wk for two months during the holiday season last year.
They pay well, and try to convince their people that they can't make as much money else where. This maybe true for the people that didn't go to school and have been at UPS forever, but all of their new hires are college grads and they are losing good people left and right.
So, I guess to answer your question most people at UPS don't like their jobs. If you are talking about "The UPS Store" most of those are individually owned.

Its probably because everytime the driver returns from your house he has a completed Workmans Comp form!
