I'm also amazed that they lived. Is this a tribute to the car being safe at high speed crashes? The occupants certainly did not look like they had on any safety gear.

Doesn't say any thing about the passenger making it. Wouldn't suprise me if he bought the farm after seeing the vehicle....

All the reports around the net say they BOTH "lived"!! What it doesn't say is how messed up they are?? From the looks of the pictures I saw the car burned up at some point? So not sure of the quality of life but they "lived"!!
