Default Need some opinions on 69 Chevelle Dash Layout

Hi guys,

Currently looks like this (except different wheel and seats) -

I bought this -

Its not really carbon fiber - and I don't like to make things LOOK like carbon fiber if they are not really carbon fiber. I could leave it. I could paint it. I could wrap it with something - I have some suede material that would match my seat inserts and I have some dash material left. But not sure how that would look. Maybe paint it Satin Black?

Also, at a loss as to what I would like to do with gauges.
I like this -

or these -

Or maybe there is something way cooler out there that I don't even know about? There is no OBDII on this car (yet) so carputers are out.

I was also thinking about doing a push button start and a pair of toggles for fuel pump and ignition on the right side of the new panel next to where the gauges would go.

What do you guys think? Please note - the original gauge carrier is being held on by 2 screws. Anyone with this style carrier knows how weak they are. So I cant reuse that.

Im currently leaning towards painting the carrier satin black with Speedhut gauges. Im thinking the speedhut gauges have black bezels and black faces with white lettering. And I like to get an Ididit black aluminum column with a new black aluminum wheels. Seems like a lot of black but I think the little splashes of aluminum trim and the silver glove box area will break it up just right.

Just looking to brainstorm other possible ideas. Thanks!
