Newspaper at my office this morning reads "Obama Orders Air War in Syria"
I threw it in the trash can and walked away. On today of all days, it was just too much to stomach. This is a sobering Thursday at my office since several of us watched it all unfold that morning 13 years ago together. WE will absolutely never forget.
I will absolutely never, ever forget. I'm a firefighter and I was on shift the morning it happened. No, it didn't happen in Dallas, but to be on shift that day and realize that it couldn't happened in my city made it that much more surreal and heartfelt for my fallen brothers. I remember it like it was yesterday. All 6 of the guys at my station shed tears that day. No matter what city you're from and work in, the firefighter profession is truly a family and fraternity.
