Haven't used one but saw a writeup in Camaro Performers on this. They used a Moroso Thru-connector and went through the toe panel on passenger side. It put the cable at the proper angle to eliminate sharp bends etc. A little safety tip they also included is to put a rubber boot over the exposed studs after attaching cables. Hope this helps and gives you an idea.

I have a question why is the negative pass through insulated like the positive ? If it wasn't wouldn't it be another grounding point? Or am I missing something??

For grounds I just use a 3/8" bolt. From the battery to the frame, crossmember to the trans, two engine to frame.

I agree, its a waste.
