staying in Durango, CO
Anyone been there recently that can recommend a place for me to stay for a couple three nights? I'm planning to head there on July 17 and leave the 20th. Going to take the bike so I can ride around a bunch one last time in Colorado before I have to move east. Would really like it to be around $100 a night. I don't need fancy, just safe for the scooter and me. Clean would be nice too, lol.
Thanks

I have stayed there on one of my bike trips. But for the life of me I can't remember where. Sorry. But my scoot was a-ok.

awesome. I figure it's not going to be an issue. Not that criminals are the smartest bunch typically, but you're a huge freaking idiot if you steal a modern Ducati. I'd still rather not deal with any hassles though. Thanks

Look into the Best Western Mountain Shadows .... been there multiple time and I've always seen Harley's, adventure bikes and BMW's and they are there in the am. Clean and they have a hot tub and pool ... plus waffles!!!!
Enjoy the ride.

The rates looked pretty reasonable at the ski area. You could stay there one or two nights and take some of the nearby trails like Hermosa Creek.

Thanks, Chief. I love waffles,mmmmmm!
Tell me about staying at the ski area, slow. It doesn't come up when I do a hotel search. Do I simply have to look up the resort name and call them? Also, the Duc is a street bike so no trails for me. Had I lived in CO like I had planned, I would have surely gotten a dual sport to enjoy.
Thanks

You know I just did a search and the room rates came up. I have only stayed there during ski season though. It looked like several rates and quite a few open days. I was thinking you may be on a mountain bike so that would be a fun area. Still lots of things do there when you aren't cruising along the river. Maybe give them a call just for grins. We just got through riding Phil's World near Cortez today. It does get into the 90s at mid day, so plan appropriately.Good luck with your search !
