Default Bonding Fiberglass to Metal

Is there a way to bond fiberglass to metal and hide the blend, in a way that lasts? I figure the secret is in having a large transfer area, but I don't know if that really works.

The idea is to bond fiberglass widened rear quarters on a 240Z. The quarters look like this:

Thanks!

For my fiberglass work I use West Systems products. I use their six10 epoxy bond. 24 hour cure time, after than it can be sanded down and you can apply filler over it, or prime etc.

Unbelievable products.

If you were to read the packaging it is recommended for most everything. I use it all the time, it is incredible stuff.

On my fiberglass hood, there was too wide of a gap to the fenders. I couldn't move the fenders in any more. So I made some aluminum backers on the bottom of my hood and ran a heavy bead along the edge of the hood. 24 hours later I peeled the backer off. I was then able to block sand the epoxy to a perfect gap with the fender. And, if I were to hit it with a hammer it will not chip off, it has become part of the hood. This stuff rocks.

I have used it on metal without fail.
