Default need help with drivetrain set up

Hi everyone:

OK, I'm to a point that I'd like to order my driveshaft and install my DSE rear sway bar, but I need to first know what angle I should set my rear differential at. This also matters as it could affect where I attach the DSE rear sway bar mounts into the frame.

The problem is I'm getting conflicting information from 2 reputable sources, so I'm not sure what to do.

The information I have on my car is as follows:

Engine/ trans- angles down 4º (pretty much "fixed")
Differential- currently angled down 1º (links can be adjusted to angle down more)
end of tailshaft to differential- 43.625"
height difference (engine/ trans are higher with differential pointing down) 3.125"

now- the conflicting info:

Inland Empire Driveline: I've read their tutorials online and spoke with them this week and they tell me my differential needs to point up 3-4º to offset the engine/ trans pointing down 4º. I'll also need to factor in the 3.125" height difference, but that should reduce if the differential angle raises and raises the spicer joint. The only way to achieve this would be to lengthen my upper 4 links from my DSE suspension as my upper links are currently at the longest limit I can adjust them.

DSE: I spoke with them today to see if they sold longer links so I could achieve the higher pinion angle (they do not) but they also told me that my differential should point down 2º as that is the angle designed for their suspension.

Pointing the diff down more is the direct opposite of what IED says...

What do I do? help please

Thanks!

Listen to DSE. A lowered pro touring Camaro requires the pinion down due to the driveline angle. My motor/trans is down 2.2, driveline down 1.8. I'd start with 2* down on the pinion and drive it and see what the harmonic are like.

Your key unknown is the driveshaft angle which determines working angles.

I'm assuming you're running a T56, what are the overdrive ratios?

If you have vibes - Make a note of or what gear and what rpms they occur at. Also note if the vibes are noticeable during slight decel & accel throttle input.

Be thankful you've got links to adjust vs leaf springs.

Thank you for the fast reply.

Yes, it's the T56 Magnum (wide ratio if I remember)/ 3:73 12 bolt. I intend to be purchasing the Toyo R888 335/35 18" tires for the rear. Probably a common set up with these parts (with exception of my engine/ trans location. it's further back a few inches)

OK, I'll set my diff back at 2º and set up from there. It'll still be a while before I'm driving, though

If I do have vibrations- which direction (up or down) should I be rotating my axle to cure it?
