Accelerating is optional...........stopping is mandatory. Your car WILL stop one way or another.

I thought it was a felony to impersonate an officer? They had balls pulling that one off.....regardless of law...

Seen an article about Bruce Canepa(the guy that played the joke on Bruce Meyer) just recently in Garage Style Magazine. He has quite the spread and car collection in Scotts Valley, California and from what my buddy tells me he has a get together at least once a year that is open to the public. Here's a little clip from the article:

It has been rumored that when Bruce Canepa was in his teens he drove a top fuel dragster at flat out speed down the main street in the sleepy town of Scotts Valley, California. A distressed witness called the Police Department to report the incident crying out, "I think there has been a plane crash. Something just flew down the street making a lot of noise. There was a lot of smoke and flames!" When the police got to the scene all they found were two wide tire stripes on the south bound lane resulting from a quarter mile long burnout.

My buddy stored a jet car at his shop. The owners came one night and made some changes to the car, they took it out and fired it up, then down the street for a short test blast (ofcourse not at speed) the street they were on dead ended at a wash basin with houses on top of a hill.

The people in those houses called 911 and said that a jet just crashed into the wash!! They had EVERY emergency agency there.. Someone told the Police that they saw an odd looking car being towed to a shop up the street.. Since no one actually saw them driving the car..they charged the owners of the jet car $$ for every emergency vehicle that was sent there.
