A rare find...1969 Mustang Boss 302 that has been in a barn for 40 years since 1973. The question is after you got it, would you just get it running by doing a factory restore/leave it "as-is" or would you cut it up and protour it with EFI big wheels, etc?
Leave it as is and get it running and mechanically sound. While disturbing as little as possible.

In the right hands, done correctly, this car will bring huge money.
BUT I'm amazed at how much this type of thing happens. Just when you think only 3 of something are known to exist, up pops another BARN FIND....
Or then there's the car that the factory painted a color that was only on like 14 units, and one turns up in a barn painted a different color...
Do I sound skeptical?
Maybe those two picker guys do have the right idea?

Well it's already bid to over 70 grand on FleaBay....
So the real question is "where's the value" --- is the value in the barn find? In which case you have to leave it a barn find - in which case you're then a museum...
Or is the value in Originality --- in which case --- you clean it up and leave it alone. To drive it - you'd find these cars weren't really very good cars...
Or is the value in the low milage... in which case you can't drive it much.
To pay 70+ grand for it and then try to make it a restoration candidate? Put what -- another 125 grand plus in it.... so now you have a 200 grand car...
It's food for thought that's for sure. But I think it depends on what you want to do with your money - and then what you want out of a car. A show car? Bragging rights that you have a barn find? Or do you want pristine performance car...
I for one am a fan of "survivor cars" that can be brought up to par mechanically, cleaned up and made presentable.
I can't really place what it is but when I see a nicely preserved original I just get a feeling of authenticity that is lost upon a newly restored car with a base/clear paint job.
Of course a better car can be built but if I had enough money I would certainly add to my collection cars such as this one, and drive them.
