Default Opinions/Knowledge needed on a G Body C$ IRS Swap

O, I have a 1978 El Camino I want to build for hitting the corners and use as a Daily Driver. Long story short, I got a C4 Independant Rear for CHEAP from a guy redoing a hot rod, traded a built 700r4 for it. I enjoy the idea of fabricatin the parts needed, placement, etc... My question, however, is, is it worth it? I've read of problems people think may come from it, such as the C4 has a different roll center than a G Body, but not being a suspension guy, I'm not familiar with this term, and all the threads I could find were years old anyway. I want to learn how to tune it, etc., but I don't want to go through the trouble of fabbing everything and making sure it's right when I could do a Hotchkiss/QA1/CPP/Whatever suspension set up and do just as well or out perform it and just sell/trade it for other parts and do better with money. I plan on doing a t56 trans, was debating trying to trade for one... So, suspension gurus, I ask you, is it worth my time to do the C4 IRS swap into my Elky? Maybe mods to the IRS to make it better, like different arms?
