I was trying to get the wiring finished up today with regards to the fuel system........Was just wondering if anyone knows which wire is the ground wire on the fuel level sending unit............white or black??
That should be easy Ken.... Get out your Volt/Ohm meter and see which one has continuity to ground... the other shouldn't. My guess is BLACK is ground...
Ricks does quality work.......But.....there was absolutely no info included with the Tank.....I talked to Hector a while back and he told me which was which........But...........LOL
To be clear -- when I say ground the black lead -- I mean hook your volt ohm meter BLACK (-) lead to the black lead from the sender -- and the positive lead (red) to the white wire --- and then set your volt ohm meter to read Ohms (the inverted horseshoe symbol) ---- and then move the float.
Can't get at the float.......It's a vertical movement float like an elevator......I checked the OHM readings on both wires and got the same thing....as I remember it was about 10 OHMs......By the way.....Merry Christmas!!!
You should be able to turn the tank over to get the float to go to full, assuming it's still out of the car and not full of gas. Worst case, if it's in the car, you could measure the resistance, then put some gas in it and measure it again.
