These are some very nice, new, billet LED hood lights. They can be used anywhere else on the vehicle though. They have mercury activation switches that activate once tilted to 30*. They also have an on/off rocker switch to turn them on and off.

Excuse me, but I'm too damn dumb to figure out what these are for. I see the title "billet LED hood lights", but are these just general lighting type of lights. You know, multi purpose, like if I open the hood or trunk.

Yes, they can be used anyway you like. When they are mounted at 90* position, then the light would have to be turned on or off from the rocker switch. They have a mercury tilt switch in them that allows them to be left on when mounted to good or trunk so it will come on when the hood or trunk is opened

Can they be turn on and off with the switch (if mounted to a fixed surface)?

Yes. They can be used either way
