Default Ls6 steam tube

Hey guys, have my 6.0 block ready for my 317 heads and ls6 intake, so do I need a Ls6 valley cover and steam tube setup, or will one of the summit steam tube kits work?

That is the same steam kit I used on my LS7 build. I found out that this is the same kit that Detroit Speed started using on their builds so figured if it was good enough for them it was good enough for me. It's a pretty nice product. There is a few pictures of on the engine in my build thread, scroll down the page. https://lateral-g.net/forums/show...=41587&page=16

I actually got that valley cover from ebay. It is a very nice machined piece. The guys over at Wegner Motorsports who built my engine were pretty impressed with it. The guy who machines these has both styles. Here is an ebay link.

Are you not running knock sensors?

I have an RHS race block and it has provisions for both locations of knock sensors. I am using the knock sensor location on the side of the block instead of the valley.

This steam kit does a better job of actually letting the air pockets out of the heads. http://www.kurturbanperformance.com/...or-system.html

So I ended up getting the summit c&r steam kit, and my question is: do I just make block off plates for the rear? I'm thinking of returning the kit to summit and ponying up the extra cash to buy the Kurt urban one. Any suggestions?

GM makes some factory block offs. Basically they are two end peices of a factory steam vent line with no port. I have an extra pair if you are interested in them
