Default Recycling I could get behind

I wonder what it takes to refine this stuff to make 100 octane?

That is amazing ... and simple ... assisting to reduce two problems with one process.

On a larger scale, it could be the answer to the growing plastic trash problem ... while helping with our oil challenges.

That is interesting for sure! I wonder how much energy it takes to do that? Also the time and what the by products turns out like.

Thinking about the power in to make the heat.... since they are putting in very remote 3 world countries.. thinking not so much... but if not then this can revolutionize the world... two birds one stone...

But dont plastic already getting recycled into to New plastic Things?

So if you make oil out of old plastic, you must use NEW oil to make NEW plastic, instead of recycling the old plastic and reuse it?

Or I am I missing something?

But it is a good invention anyway, and probably very Nice for countrys With no recycling at all.

?

I know that when I buy something it is wrapped in tenfold layers of plastic, paper and more plastic.. And thats just plain "over-packaged" That is truly a Waste of resources.

Where I live, we have separate Garbage for paper, plastic, Food and "normal"-trash in Our homes.

I invested -- and lost -- a half million dollars in a company (ReKlaim) (angel investing it's called) that had a plan to take used TIRES.... grind them up.... bake 'em or essentially distill them.... and out the other end comes Carbon black used to make printing inks.... oil and gas.... and scrap steel.

So when you think about this ---- you get paid to take the used tires in... so the commodity in... and you get three salable products out.

It didn't work. But it was a fantastic idea. Sadly the founder/idea man had a nervous breakdown - one of the guys that was selling the investments to people stepped in to run it "temporarily" --- and he blew thru money like you know what thru a goose.... The company was lost to McKinstry who was the builder of the plant -- and I think they have managed to work the bugs out but I don't think "profitably". Lots of ideas are kool - but can you make a profit is a whole different issue.
