Default Sure wish Ebay would get their stuff together on fraudulent listings

A guy with zero feedback lists an 09 CTS-V for about $15K under market value, with free shipping to US and Canada. I reported it early and they let the auction complete with several guys bidding. Next the guy who won the auction is going to get ripped off for $25K when he pays for a car that the seller doesn't have.

The bad thing is the scammers are starting to get their prices high enough so they aren't as obvious as a scam. A couple years ago this Cadillac would have been listed with a $7500. buy it now. I think Ebay really drops the ball in this area, and with their hiding the ID's of the bidders they are actually helping and protecting the crooks.

A lot of that falls on the buyer too.
Zero feedback, price way too low, free shipping that amounts to hundreds. The buyer should at least be skeptical enough to go see it before money changes hands... that being said, I have bought and sold several cars/trucks on ebay.

Price is way too low. Big bold email links at the bottom of the ad to bypass the normal Ebay message system. Topped off with free shipping anywhere in the US or Canada.

Yeah, I think on a vehicle the likelyhood of success is small. My concern about how slow eBay can be in handling this is on the types of things I buy on eBay - parts and such. While I try to avoid the low-feedback scores, I still stress over the idea I could be getting scammed.

Well, looks like the guy that won the auction for $25,500 figured it out and didn't pay. So they re-listed it at $26K buy it now and sold it again..........
