I wasn't a Loeb fan when he first came on the WRC scene, not sure why, but the last seven or so years that "boy" skill has really impressed me. He was the master of tarmac on the WRC. If Peugeot keeps funding the Pike's Peak program he could become king of the modern day mountain........if Peugeot can outspend Monster Tajima.
I was the only idiot in all of Italy driving a diesel Peugeot.... it's the buick of cars... wallowing around corners... mediocrity at it's lowest point.
Come to think of it --- not much different than a Ford Focus...
My point will be made - eventually...
It's friggin' amazing what the OEMS can do with these cars!! OMG... that thing is bad azz -- and the driving was pretty stellar too!
The little 208 is powered by a 3.2 V6 twin-turbo born for endurance races centrally located, just like the ancestor 205 T16 Group B Delivers an incredible 875 horsepower which, divided by the 875-pound weight of the car corresponds to a power to weight ratio of 1 kg / hp, a crazy stuff. Still, the couple of kilos are 90, the traction is integral, the exchange rate and a 6-speed sequential shooting is a heart attack: 0-100 km / h in 1 “8 0-200 in 4″ and 8 0-240 , the maximum speed, in just 7 seconds.
