S10...man, we used to do a TON of these trucks 10-15 years ago! We had 2 rear suspensions for them, the RoadGrater [12" drop] and the AirBar [8" drop"].
We don't do the RoadGrater anymore...that market has pretty much dried up. BUT...we still do the S10 AirBar. It is a "wishbone" design...2 lower bars that go into the oem leafspring hangers, and one upper A arm that provides both axial and lateral axle control. VERY simple to install.

Does it work? Well...I was so impressed with the handling characteristics on our old S10 that I incorporated the design into my 33 Ford. Its kinda fast.
The S10 AirBar is set up for airsprings and shocks. If I were doing a truck like this, I would keep that arrangement and use our HQ series rebound adjustable shock.
OR...a set of coilovers could easily be adapted to the design.
