Brand new stepped lip variations of our popular Concave Series three piece forged wheels are now available featuring redesigned centers with full-length spokes that extend beyond the rim register and over the step to take full advantage of the stepped lip outer. NOTE: These only work with outers up to 2 inches wide.

Though not all of the new Stepped Lip Concave Series models are listed on our website yet (as of May 15, 2013), ALL of our Concave Series wheels are now available for order in a Stepped Lip Concave variation, including the SC3C-SL, CF3C-SL, RB3C-SL, DE3C-SL, and VX3C-SL. So what would those look like with a deeper dish like on a 13" wide wheel for the rear with 6 or 7" of BS? Would the front shell be the same and the concave of the center just be that much deeper?

Rob, this is a great question, and the short answer is "no". On any fitment with an outer larger then 2 inches, these long spokes that extend below the register just don't work, because there is literally nowhere for them to go.

Frankly, these Stepped Lip Variations work best with some of the new muscle cars like the 5th gen Camaros and S197 Mustangs with smaller outers. In retrospect. I should have clarified that up front in my post. Classic muscle with deeper outers cannot use these variations with the extended spokes.

However, that being said, we can always build a 19, 20, or 21 inch version of the original design and combine it with a stepped lip outer. The spoke would just stop at the bottom of the rim register instead of reaching beyond.

The RB3C-SL Stepped Lip is now available featuring extended spokes that reach beyond the rim register and below the step. This design works well with a 1.5 or 2 inch outer like the fitments on many modern sports cars, including fifth-gen Camaros, S197 Mustangs, BMW 3-Series/5-Series, Ferraris, Nissan GT-Rs, and Porsche 996/997 Wide Bodies. (Other fitments are currently in development.)

The DE3C-SL Stepped Lip concave wheel is now available featuring extended spokes that reach beyond the rim register and below the step. This design isn't really intended for classic muscle cars, but it works well with a 1.5 or 2 inch outer like the fitments on many modern sports cars, including fifth-gen Camaros, S197 Mustangs, BMW 3-Series/5-Series, Ferraris, Nissan GT-Rs, and Porsche 996/997 Wide Bodies. (Other fitments are currently in development.)

OK, technically the new VX3C-SL Stepped Lip Concave has been available to order for awhile. But we've finally got this photo set to show you what it looks like. And we've added all of the sizes and prices to the Forgeline website.

The new VX3C-SL Stepped Lip Concave is shown here finished with Titanium center and Polished outer. Notice the extended spokes that reach down below the step. This really only works well with a 1.5 or 2.0 inch outer, so probably not applicable to a lot of classic muscle cars, but it is a great choice for modern sports cars that require a narrow outer (Camaro, Mustang, BMW, Porsche, Ferrari).
