Default May 2013 oil study

Here is the latest oil study for many of the popular 5w30 motor oils http://www.amsoil.com/lit/g3115.pdf Keep in mind the deal I'm offering that will allow you to get dealer pricing for no additional cost for 6 months on Mothers, WIX, Trico, Donaldson filters, Mann filters and all of AMSOIL's products. Use this link http://www.amsoil.com/opportunity.as...type=preferred to get the wholesale pricing. I will send you the 6 month trial period cost back along with a calendar and you will receive a monthly magazine. I use this product in both my DD's and have been very happy! Match it with an AMSOIL filter and go 15,000 miles or once a year.

This may be a thread hijack (and pm me if it is), but what is the story on Ford wanting to use only Motorcraft oil in the power stokes? I was told that the injectors are "oil fired" or something like that and only the Motorcraft oil is non foaming, or something like that. Any info on the truth to that?

The only logical reason I can see is that Ford must have their hands in it. Most manufacturers do this hoping to trick consumers into getting service done only at the dealerships. Rest assured that you can use any lubricant that meets the specs for that particular application without warranty issues. This was an issue a while back but the government got involved and put into affect the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act in 1982. Read about it here. http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles...ne-maintenance.
If you have a Powerstroke and would like to know what AMSOIL products to use let me know what you have and i'll get you correct information.

If you're talking about the 6.0's, I don't think there's much truth to that. The injectors do run off the oil (hydro-electric), that's true. I own an 03 F-250 with the Powerstroke and joined a powerstroke forum awhile ago. Most everyone on that site recommends a good quality diesel spec synthetic and oil changes every 5000. Injectors on that thing are around $250 each for remanufactured units, so good oil is a small price to pay for that extra piece of mind. I use Rotella T-6, but I'm positive Amsoil has an excellent product for this purpose. Also, check out a product called Archoil AR-9100, it's supposed to help with the stiction issues these trucks have.

If you're talking about the brand new Powerstroke, injector design has changed and I'm fairly certain it's now a common rail system

How often do you change the oil with the Rotella? That's a popular oil here in IA also.

Have you ever considered giving this a try? Then match it up with an AMSOIL Ea Filter and you have superior protection and you only need to change your oil 50,000 miles, 600 hours or once a year. I'm not sure if you have the 7.3 or the 6.0 to show you the proper filter. Yearly it could cost less also!

Thanks guys. My personal truck is a six-ho, and yes I've already changed the head gaskets (twice!), installed studs and done the EGR delete.

I was referring to the ford bulletin that claimed that their oil was superior and that all others cause injector failure. I've been running Rotella and changing it around every 8-10k and it now has 160k on it.

On the Amsoil stuff, I have several other work trucks (like 15 or so) and most of them are diesels as well. What is the dollar value and difference of your stuff over the Rotella?

A major difference between AMSOIL and Rotella is the shear stability or in other words the length of time it will stay in viscosity. Meaning less downtime on the trucks and less oil to buy.

Having a business means you can have a commercial account with AMSOIL. There is no cost with this and you get wholesale pricing, earn discounted shipping and oil analysis . What business owners end up liking the most about using AMSOIL is the convenience. From not having to change fluids as often to being able to get the tranny fluid, gear lube, grease, fuel additives, plus what we need for our toys and don't forget filters all from the same place equaling greater price discounts. Plus it will come to your door rather then having to go get it. Owning a fleet of trucks like yourself you will see these benefits because it will help your bottom line.

The price for a 55 gallon drum of is 1,386. Before any discounts and freight costs. You will receive a price list for all of AMSOIL's products being a business account. My number is 319-929-8697 and I can get one completed over the phone in a couple minutes. I'll be around most of the weekend give me a call my name is Jacob. This is something you can not register for online only with an AMSOIL dealer.

Any other questions?
