Just heading south of of Louisville now. OLC is kicking butt in Vintage American with a second in wet skidpad and first in autocross. Jon and I finished third and second, putting us 2nd overall in class.

So far no problems except Jon got us lost for about 15 minutes. The three of us, Jimi in AMXess too, are moving along to Talladega for an exciting stay at the Super8. 80% chance of rain tomorrow (BOOOOOOO!!!) We've been on the road for 3-1/2 hours already with another seven to go before bedtime, and it raining pretty hard already.

Andy Holis in his '89 CRX took the overall win in autocross this afternoon. It's a super car and very well driven.

Update from Jimi Day:

Quote:
Jimi Day

We now have the first 2 events and more than 500 miles behind us in the 2013 One Lap of America. The CenterForce AMXess is performing admirably, her driver still needs to perform to the cars potential. It's a long week and our goal is to finish, so we're ok being in 45th place overall and 4th on the Vintage Class.

I managed to make it out to the OLOA event for the second session at Talladega GPR. I had the pleasure of meeting James, Mary, Carl and Jimi and got to see their cars along with the rest of the field. It was cool to walk around at the paddock and see some of these cars before they hit the track.
Some observations:
-The AMXess car is a really cool piece of machinery and it looks great.
-The HFC looked great with the new hood and front valence.
-The OLC update is awesome and it looks great at speed. The wing really looks cool.
-The DSE car actually does sound as good as everybody had said
-GTR's are blazing fast
-The Mercedes SLS sounds like a jet fighter at speed.

It is one thing to see these cars on the net, it is another to see them at speed.

Ill take the oppounity provided by the OLOA computer glitch to post this headline

"In the Talladega afternoon session, team OLC posts the fastest overall time on 32.39 seconds, over 2 minutes and 30 seconds faster than TSM."

Detoit speed seems to be finding their rhythm with their new car, up to 8th in this run....that's LEGIT fast.

Run 1 at NOLA is in the books and we're doing fine! First in class with Jimi a close second. Mary had a great day yesterday with two first in class finishes. We're sitting first in class and 21st overall.
