Default Liberty's Gears

I just ordered a part from Liberty's Gears it weighed 1.5 oz's and the freight was $15.23. Buyers beware that place is a ripoff.

Before you go off on them you might want to check UPS shipping costs. I sent an oil seal to a customer yesterday in a town about 50miles away and my UPS cost was 10.96. Shipping is stupid expensive these days.

Fed-Ex and UPS give a lot of companies out there discounts or as they call it corporate accounts with pretty decent rates. I just received a hammer crimp tool from Amazon ot was about 4lbs $5.43 !!!!!!

Supply and demand. I hate to think about all the money I threw down the drain on shipping building mine.

Don't forget shipping is only 1 word of a 2 word phrase... shipping AND HANDLING.

$4,937.07 so far on the car and that is all ground freight.

If I add the cost of shipping the car from California then add another $1100.00.

You guy didn't screw you on shipping.

My Guess is the shipping was 10 / 11 buck and then the box was about a buck. So maybe he made 2 bucks which offset his labor cost to pack & ship it.

ps Don't forget that there is a weekly fee to with UPS if you have an account and then he has to receive the bill, have someone pay the bill and then.

So in the end I am sure he lost money on the shipping.

You didn't get screwed. I just ran that shipment through our UPS computer. With our corporate account shipping up to 1# from 48180 (Taylor MI) to 80107 (Elizabeth CO) the rate is $9.63. Everything we ship UPS gets at least a $5 processing charge. This pays for the packaging material, time to package, and time to process the billing from UPS etc. Even at that it doesn't cover all the costs. So if it were us shipping the charge would have been $14.63.

Hope that helps!
