Default 69 camaro rear door panel install problem

got a set of pre assembled door panels (PUI interiors)
the rear panels are pissin me off to no end.
i got the passenger side in after much swearing etc.
the drivers side is high at the door edge side but the panel lines up with the door?
the metal insert didnt seem to match the originals and got it to fit somewhat better after tweaking the metal insert.
but the window knob hole is slightly off and the knob hits the mylar trim piece.
this is on a 69 camaro std interior

Default no answer

Can't reply when I don't have an answer. I really think you answered your own question in that the pre-assembled panels do not fit as good as the originals due to the upper portion where the metal is located....it sounds to me that they were a bad batch and need to be sent back. If you have your originals I would get the ones that are not pre-assembled and remove the metal upper portion and go that route.

On a related note...do you have those subs installed under the seat yet?

here is the pics after wrestling them for best fit:
notice the holes in window reg are off.
and drivers side still too low in back ( but have 1 " gap at rear window trim.
drivers side has new panels installed.
passenger side only rear panel installed.

Default well

good thing is the crank will cover the offset hole and nobody will notice since it is in the back...except you. The real stuff does not fit that great either if that is any consulation.

Remember to put the cups and springs back in between the handle and the panel.

Default Rear Panels/Interior

Dawg,

Did you lay down Dynamat (sound deadener) before you laid the carpet and panels? If so, how was it? I'm at this stage now with my 69.
