Exclamation isn't the seller supposed to wait till the offer to insult a prospective buyer?

In my search for a '55 2 dr post to cut up I saw this today.

1955 Chevrolet 150 2dr sedan - $1750 (Mohawk NY)

"Original 1955 chevrolet 2dr sedan . Plain Jane 150 model. No chrome. 265 V8 - 3speed. Complete but not running. This model was used in Nascar Racing in 1955.Needs a rear 1/4panel and some frame work.

A good cheap start for you tightwads and depression era challenged individuals."

"I will never have one of these this cheap again..photos available. I can assist in loading. It needs total resto but a great deal. Good for drag rat hot rod restoration. Cool vehicle and vintage bike swops considered-have a good 2013. $1750.00 or??? 315-866-3072 If you see this ad it is still available."

It's a bit brash, but I see his point. At $1750, someone will offer him $750. But, as every seller does, I know he has a "lowest I'll go" point.

My buddy is famous for saying "whats the cash price?" which is pretty f'n funny to me because I don't take EBT or farm animals or ex-wives, I only have a cash price...

When I get the 'cash today' question, I usually respond 'cash, as opposed to ...??'

I dont have or give lowest or bottom lines, but do encourage buyer to make an offer. Amazing how the art of negotiation is diminished.

Yes, exactly. When asked 'What's the lowest you'll take". I just ask "What's the highest you'll pay?" The crickets usually chirp after that.

I never understood the telephone buyer mentality of asking for a bottom line price without even seeing the car. Sotra qualifies them out in my mind. My first response to that nonsense is, 'not sure you can make an offer without seeing the car? I'm flexible on the price so if you would like to come see what you're buying we can talk about my bottom line.' Interested buyers show up, tire kickers jump off the phone.

The only time I would talk price on the phone is if I or the buyer has to travel a good distance to see the car.

I absolutely HATE when someone says "What if I give you cash TODAY"

I want to slap the shizz out of them. What else are you going to pay with? Personal checks?

It also pisses me off when they have the nerve to offer you 50% less than what your asking. If I wanted 50% less dont you think I would have posted it for that price?
