Default To all the dads out there- now I get it.

To my favorite forum- My wife and I had our first child yesterday. A baby boy. The contractions strated cranking pretty hard during the third quarter of the Superbowl, so once the game was over, we left the party and went home to start the timing and grab the gear just in case. What ended up being 22 hours of labor eventually got called, and the C section was ordered. I can so clearly see myself holding her hand on the tidy side of the barrier sheet when I first heard those high pitch chirps- then a solid cry. I thought my chest was gonna tear my shirt off I was so proud. He surpasses anything I could have ever hoped for. So for you dads out there, I now understand. There's simply nothing you won't do for him or her. For lack of better words- incredible. His name is Magnus James Smith. He has a pure viking bloodline and is named after my favorite gentle giant:

AWESOME! Congrats!!

I was there, 2 times. I know exactly what youre talking about.

Now my oldest is 4 1/2 and whenever car parts get delivered she says "Daaaaaaaddd........not morrre car parts. Youre never going to play barbies with me." To which I reply - "You can help me with the wrenches". And she is more than happy to ratchet some of the bolts off.
