So we were pretty busy with our move and didn't have time to start rust repair for 6 months or so on this project, so he got another shop to do the panel replacement. (Long story, didn't wait for us) Unfortunately, it was a bit over their head and the job was lacking a bit, so we have to pick up the pieces there but none the less, its time for the build.
Pretty much just the roof and pillars, rear deck panel, trunk lid, and tail panel are left from what he bought. The rest is replaced. Since it will never be a perfect restoration and it was only a 383 etc, (and we are not big fans of stock) we decided to just have some fun with it!
The plan was just to do a driver, so the budget didn't let us start with renderings etc, but it has evolved since. Please excuse the messy unfinished new shop in the background of these pics.
Car has now got a 6.1 Hemi, American Powertrain T56 Magnum kit, dual clutches, lightweight flywheel, oh and did I mention twin STS turbos??? Something fun we wanted to try. I know its not as glamorous as front mounted hair dryers, but still fun.
Suspension is Control Freak all around, we are now dealers for their stuff and let me tell you, if its not a GM and you need suspension, this stuff is a pretty nice option. The fit was great and they are nice to deal with.
Entry level Wilwood Dynapro brakes, car will have 18 x 12s in the rear and some killer rubber.
Pushbutton start and keyless entry modules, along with DBW pedal and vintage air mounts. The firewall is getting changed, so we havent fully welded our new structures in.
