What exactly do they mean by "going in another direction"?
This smells funny.

Thats a bummer for all the people that had already signed and contracted for an event. Looks like a great place to visit. Just glad its not happening at any of the tracks in our neck of the woods. I'd hate to see that happen to Sonoma or Reno- Fernley. I know SCCA owns T-Hill so I'm sure something like this would never happen there. Not sure who owns Buttonwillow but as fun as that track is, lets face it, the facilities there certainly aren't state of the art so no worries there. Wasn't even going to mention Laguna Seca. An awesome track with alot of history but unfortunately the db level requirements tend to keep me from signing up for an event. Regardless, sorry to see this happen.

I think they mentioned something about privatizing it for personal use. Possibly a membership deal?

There is a new facility that has been opened over here in Dawsonville, Ga. It's called Atlanta Motorsports Park, or AMP. It is a beautiful state of the art facility, that offers both membership deals, and pay by the day usage.
It would seem that by going strictly membership only, that in today's economy, COTA would be turning out a LOT of money. For instance, a membership at AMP starts at 15k. That's not pocket change to many people these days. On the other hand, for $400 a day, you can go drive until your content with ferraris' , lambos', gtr's, and the like. Track rentals can be very lucrative.
If any of you are ever over here in the N. Ga. Area, check out AMP. I have no affiliation, just someone wanting to see a local track make it, and not have to shut its doors. The local short track, Lanier National Seedway, which I put many, many laps on, shut its doors a couple years ago. Tragic.

AMP has noise restrictions so anyone planning on running there needs to check the db level prior to going there.
